Of course lah, it’s him what… I already said ‘step aside…’ long ago liao, Chen Han Wei (陈汉玮) – Daddy at Home (企鹅爸爸) (31%) is leading the poll as netizens’ No.1 choice of the Star Awards 最佳男主角 Best Actor.

Elvin Ng (黄俊雄) – Together (当我们同在一起) (25%) is No.2 . If netizens became the real judges, Tay Ping Hui (郑斌辉) – The Ultimatum (双子星) (16%) 40^th birthday’s wish of scooping an award would be completely crushed. Dai Yang Tian (戴阳天) – Together (当我们同在一起) is not doing any better (15%). Dark horse Brandon Wong (黄炯耀) – Housewives’ Holiday (煮妇的假期) is at the bottom with 11%. Heaven got no eyes?

Jeannette Aw (欧萱) – Together (当我们同在一起) (39%) is everyone’s choice of a 最佳女主角 Best Actress. Hot favorites like Hong Hui Fang (洪慧芳) – Housewives’ Holiday (煮妇的假期) (16%) and Ann Kok (郭舒贤) – Housewives’ Holiday (煮妇的假期) (19%) paled in comparison to Jeanette in this poll. Eelyn Kok (郭蕙雯) – Together (当我们同在一起) is not scoring any better (14%) and Chen Li Ping (陈莉萍) – Reunion Dinner (团圆饭) (11%) is…sigh…姜不一定是老的辣?

Zhu Hou Ren (朱厚任) – Reunion Dinner (团圆饭) is a clear netizens’ fav for 最佳男配角 Best Supporting Actor with 36% of the votes. Jerry Yeo (杨伟烈) – The Ultimatum (双子星) (20%), Zhang Zhen Huan (张振寰) – Together (当我们同在一起) (18%) and Zheng Ge Ping (郑各评) – Together (当我们同在一起) (17%) need to work a lot harder. Darren Lim (林明伦) – My School Daze (书包太重) is way at the bottom with just 8% (never mind lah, you already won before…hehe)!

最佳女配角 Best Supporting Actress is set to be a tough fight as netizen can’t really nail a clear winner – Hong Hui Fang (洪慧芳) – Together (当我们同在一起) (24%), Constance Song (宋怡霏) – The Ultimatum (双子星) (23%) and Aileen Tan (陈丽贞) – Together (当我们同在一起) (21%) and Xiang Yun (向云) – Baby Bonus (添丁发财) (17%). As for Paige Chua (蔡琪慧) – The Dream-catchers (未来不是梦) (14%), what can we say? Ok, this: “thank you for participation”…hehe…

Together (当我们同在一起) (39%) is netizens’ choice of 最佳电视剧 Best Drama followed not very closely by Housewives’ Holiday (煮妇的假期) (21%). Perfect Cut 2 (一切完美2) (16%), Daddy at Home (企鹅爸爸)  (13%) and Reunion Dinner (团圆饭) (11%) can kiss goodabye already?

Together (当我们同在一起) – 我们 – 陈伟联 is a clear winner 最佳电视剧主题曲 Best Drama Theme Song at 41% followed by The Ultimatum (双子星) – 寂寞光年 – 刘力扬 (32%). The others like Perfect Cut 2 (一切完美 2) – 放了爱 – 郭美美 (16%), Daddy at Home (企鹅爸爸) – 男人可贵 – 苏智诚 (6%) and Table of Glory (乒乓圆) – 乒乓圆 – 王建复 (5%)。。。不提也罢。

Aunty Lucy (周崇庆) – Paris & Milan (女王本色) is an obvious hot fav to win 最佳综艺主持人 Best Variety Show Host with over half of all votes at 53%! The other veteran hosts like Mark Lee (李国煌) – It’s A Small World (国记交意所) (15%), Guo Liang (郭亮) – CelebriTea Break 2(艺点心思 2) (14%), Quan Yi Fong (权怡凤) – Buzzing Cashiers 2 (抢摊大行动2) (13%) and young bird Li Teng (李腾) – On The Beat 4 (都市大发现 4) (6%) can still wear nice clothes and look good that night…

Pornsak – Stars For A Cause (明星志工队) is leading the poll for 最佳资讯节目主持人 Best Info-Ed Host with 30% of the votes. Chew Chor Meng (周初明) – Food Hometown 2 (美食寻根2) is closing in with 24%. Bryan Wong (王禄江) – Food Hometown 2 (美食寻根2) (19%), Michelle Chia (谢韵仪) – Stars For A Cause (明星志工队) (15%) and Guo Liang (郭亮) – Stars For A Cause (明星志工队) (12%)?

The above winners were chosen based on 10770 votes of a poll set up by this BaguaTV Blog in the previous blog post. I have closed the poll and removed them as of 4pm today (this will ease uploading speed of my blog post as it had put a strain on the speed here). The poll may or may not reflect the actual results, so please don’t get too upset about it if your idols didn’t make it…it is still up to the panel of professional judges to decide…

First, it was 郭舒贤 Ann Kok. Then it was 欧萱 Jeanette Aw. But he ever once revealed way back then that he finds 陈靓瑄 Felicia Chin someone he could really open his heart to…(watch out 张耀栋 Zhang Yao Dong!). Finally, they will have all the time together to develop their feelings as both will be in a new idol sports drama: ‘Splashes & Strings 游梦琴真’.

陈靓瑄 Felicia Chin ‘东山再起’ and will now play the lead role nicknamed ‘蜜蜂姐姐’游泳儿. 乐观积极、神经大条、不拘小节、可以在大庭广众面前打呵欠和打嗝。平日半工半读，凡是能赚钱的工作，从都不放过，加上有个整天惹祸，需要她补祸的父亲游山，更是让她十分忙绿，所以有了个外号叫“蜜蜂姐姐”，不过这也培养了她超强的适应能力，无论何处，都可以睡得着，而且时间一到，生理时钟便很自然地把她叫醒。进入国家泳队是她一生的梦想，所以不管她有多累，不管遇到什么困难，她还是屡败屡战，始终没有放弃。

戴阳天 Dai Yang Tian finally landed a real idol role as 王子乐 (even the name sounds so ‘idol’) – a 帅酷音乐系学生（主修大提琴 cello). 为人慢热、不懂得和人沟通，在不认识的人眼中，看起来十分酷，实则是个温柔、没脾气的男人。对音乐执着，从小立志要做个大提琴家。由于他的父亲自己无法完成他的画家梦，所以自小就对子乐的音乐梦非常支持，但子乐始终缺临门一脚，无法脱颖而出。耳朵极为敏感，可以分辨远处传来的声音，是他引以为豪的地方。对女友就像对音乐一样一心一意，是大家公认的金童玉女，不料女友竟然背叛他，让他受到了极大的打击…

黄俊雄 Elvin Ng just can’t get DYT off his back lor…It started with ‘Together’ and he will have to live with it for the whole of Star Awards (both nominated for Best Actor) and this drama. 小名“阳阳”欧天阳，为人贴心、善解人意、幽默风趣、天生的领导者，是个文武双全的阳光型男孩，人们眼中的完美情人，可是在处理感情方面却显得有些优柔寡断。除了教风帆之外，对网上投资股票也颇有心得，导致他的野心扩大，岂料计算错误，欠下大笔债务。自尊心强的他不愿意让亲近的人知道自己的惨况，险些做出了昧着良心的事… Guess Elvin will be topless most of the time and flaunting his bods as the 教风帆 trainer lor…

More on other roles when I get hold of the full cast list but these 3 leading stars are confirmed…’Splashes & Strings 游梦琴真’ will debut on 7 July on Channel 8 (story by 陈耀/谢俊源 and Executive Producer: 谢敏洋). The English and Chinese titles are just tentative working titles, if you have any better title/s, please suggest (I love those Taiwanese idol drama titles )…

戴阳天 Dai Yang Tian can proudly walk down the red carpet with ‘good friends’ 郭舒贤 Ann Kok on his right and 欧萱 Jeanette Aw on his left. Congratulations! All 3 are in! No cat-fight over him please…LOL.

黄俊雄 Elvin Ng who was often being asked about playing 2nd lead to DYT in ‘当我们同在一起 Together’ will have to bear with the same question again as he is also in the 最佳男主角 Best Actor nomination list with DYT.

洪慧芳 Hong Hui Fang scored a double nomination – Best Actress (煮妇的假期 Housewives’ Holiday) and 最佳女配角 Best Supporting Actress (Together). She can walk down the red carpet with her husband as 郑各评 Zheng Ge Ping is also in for Best Supporting Actor (Together). Hui Fang’s ‘daughter’ and ’son-in-law’ in ‘Together’ are both nominated – 郭蕙雯 Eelyn Kok is in Best Actress and 张振寰 Zhang Zhen Huan in Best Supporting Actor nomination.

I am sure this star never expected this was coming his way – the taxi uncle from ‘Housewives’ Holiday’ 黄炯耀 Brandon Wong is in for Best Actor! Congratulations, Brandon!  Same to 陈丽贞 Aileen Tan for her short but extremely memorable role in ‘Together’. 向云 Xiang Yun may have missed her chance to join ‘Housewives’ Holiday’ Hong Hui Fang and Ann Kok in the BA category but she gets her ‘oh-I-lost-count’ Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role in ‘添丁发财 Baby Bonus’. It is nice to see more seasoned stars being recognized at a grand event like Star Awards 2010.

郑斌辉 Tay Ping Hui will have to find out for himself if his wish of getting the Best Actor before turning 40 years old this year could be fulfilled.  His ‘双子星 The Ultimatum’ role will once again face the multi-awards and BIGGEST contender of all – 陈汉玮 Chen Han Wei from 企鹅爸爸 Daddy At Home! Or “Step aside”?

Veteren stars are equally ‘in’ as we see a good ‘balance’ of such stars versus the ‘princess and prince’ bunch. 朱厚任 Zhu Hou Ren gets his long deserving Best Supporting Actor nomination for ‘团圆饭 Reunion Dinner’. He is joined by his ‘daughter-in-law’ 陈莉萍 Chen Li Ping – also nominated for Best Actress. 林明伦 Darren Lim won Best Supporting Actor before and he will challenge all contenders again in the same category with his ‘书包太重 My School Daze’ role.

‘Evil mother and son’, 宋怡霏 Constance Song and 杨伟烈 Jerry Yeo from ‘The Ultimatum’  may have to indulge in their evil ’scheming’ again to win in the Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor nomination…hehe…

蔡琪慧 Paige Chua will fight the bunch of Star Award’s regulars with her ‘未来不是梦 The Dream-catchers’ in the Best Supporting Actress category.

He will have to fight the usual strong contenders like Guo Liang (艺点心思 2 CelebriTea 2), Quan Yi Feng (抢摊大行动2 Buzzing Cashier 2), Mark Lee (国记交意所 It’s A Small World) and 2nd time nominee Lee Teng (都市大发现 4 On The Beat 4). Pornsak (明星志工队 Star For a Cause) is in for 最佳资讯节目主持人 Best Info-Ed Programme Host together with 王禄江 Bryan Wong and 周初明 Chew Chor Meng (美食寻根2 Food Hometown 2), 郭亮 Guo Liang and 谢韵仪 Michelle Chia (明星志工队 Star For A Cause). Sorry, no Kym Ng leh…

最佳主持人 Best Host nomination: are we expecting to see the nomination list comprising ‘regular’ names like 权怡风 Quan Yi Feng, 李国煌 Mark Lee, 王禄江 Bryan Wong and 锺琴 Kym Ng again? Will Aunty Lucy cause a major upset and make headline news with a nomination this year (just making a wild guess here)?

‘煮妇的假期 Housewives’ Holiday’ took the No.1 most-watched drama spot and became the first confirmed winner of the Highest Rated Drama at the 红星大奖 Star Awards 2010 ceremony. Will the 3 leading stars be as lucky as the drama itself even though it was screened on TV almost a year ago? 洪慧芳 Hong Hui Fang, 郭舒贤 Ann Kok and 向云 Xiang Yun – are we expecting an ‘all-in or all-out’ scenario in the 最佳女主角 Best Actress category? Will 欧萱 Jeanette Aw and 郭蕙雯 Eelyn Kok of  ’当我们同在一起 Together’ , 瑞恩 Rui En (未来不是梦 Dreamcatchers) and 陈靓瑄 Felicia Chin (Baby Bonus 添丁发财) stand a chance with these 3 loud ‘aunties’ around? What about 郑惠玉 Zoe Tay and 范文芳 Fann Wong?

‘Step aside, here comes 陈汉玮 Chen Han Wei!’ – I am not biased to say so as it is obvious he is really good. He didn’t get all the attention of so many Executive Producers to cast him in their most challenging roles if he was just an average actor. I will be very surprised if I don’t see his name in the Best Actor’s nomination list (my personal wild guess). He had three breakthrough roles in 2009 and he delivered them memorably. I really think it is no longer a question ‘if he could’ get a nomination…but ‘which drama’…

红星大奖2010最佳入围名单 Star Awards 2010 Nominees’ List will be released on Wednesday (tomorrow). I am sure all artistes have been waiting for this day. Some will be celebrating but many will be disappointed… For fans of the stars, be prepared to cheer for your idols or send your comforting words to…

Chinese Pop Prince JJ Lin 林俊杰 surprised the couple with a hilarious video and sang a love song LIVE to congratulate them! It was a very romantic song & dance wedding banquet at Project SuperStar Hong Jun Yang 洪俊扬 & 杜蕙甹 Candyce Toh’s wedding held at Raffles Marina Club (next to Tuas Checkpoint) last night (31 January 2010).

The couple made a grand entrance arriving from the sea…followed by the Solemnization Ceremony (the couple cried over their speech). At the dining hall, Junyang came in first and waited on stage singing ‘Guardian Angel’. He later played the keyboard and sang a new song specially written for Candyce (gosh, that was a beautiful song and it brought tears again). Alot of videos including one on what Junyang was made to do when he went to pick Candyce up in the morning…(all are now being uploaded onto this blog post). Celebrities and DJs spotted were JJ Lin, Shaun Chen, Aileen Tan, Aunty Lucy, Cruz Teng, Huang Shi Nan, Jiang Chen Xi, Silver Ang, SuperBand J3, etc.

Jun Yang wrote this song especially for Candyce (it’s really beautiful and a very nice song). He sang it LIVE to her and it was also the world’s premiere of a new song (soon to become a hit song for some stars probably):

Starring 章缜翔 Zzen in his 1st leading role in a Singapore’s drama (aka Robert Zhang of ‘The Little Nyonya’), 梁丽芳 Tiffany Leong (also her 1st leading role here since her last hosting gig with 戴阳天 Dai Yang Tian in a Malaysian travelogue), 向云 Xiang Yun, 鹤天赐 Nat Ho, 唐育书 Alan Tern and wife 曾诗梅 Priscelia Chan (as husband & wife in drama too).

戚玉武 Qi Yu Wu is back on television but he won’t be seen romancing with 欧萱 Jeanette Aw this time. Instead, 郭蕙雯 Eelyn Kok is all set to become Yu Wu’s new on-screen lover in the new drama ‘Precious Babes 三个女人一个宝’. This drama will be produced by the same team who brought you 2009’s No.1 Most-Watched Drama ‘Housewives’ Holiday 煮妇的假期’ and Adrian Pang’s ‘Daddy Nanny 奶爸百分百’.

Eelyn has just napped her next female leading role as a TV Director Producer in this drama. She is someone with alot of character but short-tempered. Her 眼中钉 is Qi Yu Wu in the beginning but you know love just gets in the way…

Is it finally all over for Jeanette and Qi Yu Wu? Eelyn lost Yu Wu to Jeanette in ‘小娘惹 The Little Nyonya’ badly but she will now enjoy Yu Wu’s company and may just replace Jeanette to become viewers’ most beloved on-screen partner.

郭舒贤 Ann Kok (touted to be a threat by many online to strip Jeanette and other princesses any remaining chance with the Star Awards 2010 Best Actress line-up) will play another lead role as a very sensitive woman’s magazine reporter married to  唐育书 Alan Tern. Watch this gal – Ann is ‘resurrecting’ her ex-Ah Jie status very strongly…

许美珍 Cynthia Koh takes on the lead role of a high class fussy/bossy/haolian fashion designer married to 郑各平 Zheng Ge Ping.
