Missed local period dramas? Ann Kok and Li Nan Xing starring in the next period drama…not as ‘lead artistes’ but ‘calefares’…haha…
No lah, the above photo is just a scene taken off the upcoming drama ‘企鹅爸爸Daddy At Home’ about how this couple got to know one another – yes, they met as ‘calefares’ shooting local period dramas.
Ann has really made a big comeback. She is like the hot favorite choice with Executive Producers when they are doing new drama casting. Filming of ‘企鹅爸爸Daddy At Home’ is ending this week and immediately Ann will be doing her next Chinese New Year’s drama imaging for ‘Happy Family’ (also starring Rui En).
This week, Ann is also seen on the cover of i-weekly with Cynthia Koh and Yvonne Lim. Oh…she also mentioned about her ‘age-limit’ of younger boyfriends – not younger than 11 years! Guess what? Rumored bf Dai Yang Tian is 11 years younger than Ann…so still got hope lah…

And our dear Campus SuperStar Rachel Cai Ai Jia is also in the drama as Chen Han Wei’s daughter. According to my Taiwanese source, Ai Jia is probably going to be the last remaining Singaporean in the competition. Somehow, they think Ai Jia would appeal to Taiwanese more so than Tan Diya (already out), Huang Zhi Yang (in danger zone) and that dancer (worst luck than Zhiyang). Move those Made-in-HK dramas out of Ch 8 to Ch U, please. If not, then to 4:30 to 6:30 pm time-slot.
My family’s viewing habit is now 8-9pm (ch 8), 7-8 & 9-10 (not ch 8).
We stopped watching the current HK drama after viewing its 1st episode.

Just saw from omy u-weekly intro, the bao liao said Ann’s boobs are fake one.
But the more shocking one is, the recent fraud case about the man who runs the private school which offers the fake RMIT cert, who drives posh car & wears designer label is actually Ann’s ex-BF leh. gosh.
Like all the over-the-hill actresses, Ann wants news to make a come-back hor,
here are all the news lor. Haha, good news or bad news make good publicity
ba. First, she create rumours with DYT (both making use of each other to

wow, looks like this show is more heavy-weighted than ultimatum. 2 ah ges, think chen hanwei is heavier weighted than tph.
2 ah jies – ann kok and cynthia, altho less heavy-weight than zoe and fann, their acting skills are well-honed over the years.
in fact ann has reminded us that it’ll be a bonus for us to watch her acting skills – am expecting a very light-hearted yet lots of entertainment show.
hope that this show will help cast cynthia back to the limelight. after winning the BA some years back, she kind of only acted in supporting roles.
good news to hear from paul that there’ll be more news moving forward for cynthia. (hear it from paul: it’s not just any role but one that is totally – let me guess, “a breakthrough”?)
Campus superstar Rachel Cai is sb to watch. gifted in singing – wonder abt her singing. – garner best child actress award in sa 2010?
looking at the ways things are moving, looks like going to be some big shake-up in top female sa2010 – ann should definitely make it and if cynthia given more opportunitiess, hopefully?

how can mdc change to 8 to 9? most pple in singapore r used to watching 9-10. i dun watch the 7-8 show.
btw, paul i noticed one of yr female colleagues very kiasu, scared pple don’t know she’s around. always try to make it to the “latest” news and always try to click her own blog to “most viewed” when sb free, may do funny things. but it’s irritating for us. if your blog is most viewed i can understand. if fann’s blog is most viewed i can understand. but….

To Paul Chan : Just to check with u will 蔡艾珈 Rachel Cai Aijia will be chosen to sing the Theme Song for this Drama Serial 企鹅爸爸 Daddy At Home since she can sing so well & is currently representing our country & MEDIACORP ( as well ) in Taiwan for the PK Competition …
Also not forgetting there were News reports in the Papers that she fared excellently that she got FULL MARKS – 25 Marks in the PK Competition in Taiwan !
So how ? Will 蔡艾珈 Rachel Cai Aijia be singing the Theme song for this Drama ? Or at least the Sub Theme Song , please ? Or even both ?

LNX’s tuxedo looks good on him. I wonder why he didn’t get the chance to wear it in TU. I’m looking forward to Cynthia’s performance and hope she will gain the momentum she deserves.
I think it’s a foregone conclusion that we will see Ann Kok putting up a good fight in the next SA, and definitely fresh blood in the Top 10 Male Artistes. Next year’s Top 10 Female Artistes will be an interesting competition, to say the least..

BTW, seriously why aren’t there any local period dramas nowadays by mediacorp?…There used to be produced before good ones like eight immortals, legend of jigong, tofu street etc…Nowadays, we have to settle for these BORING accquired period dramas. Why isn;t there anymore produced by mediacorp?…No script?…Budget?…And will we ever see any local period dramas by produced soley by mediacorp?…

really do hope that JA and 715 will be able to work together again in another drama after JA finished filming ‘together’ and may i request paul to help me suggest to the relative department to re-telecast dramas acted by JA and 715?..thank you very much…films like ‘beautiful connection’, ‘the champion’, ‘CID’, ‘the peak’ or ‘THE LITTLE NYONYA’…really enjoyed all the dramas acted by them, really loved their chemistry..they are indeed the 20th century BEST ONSCREEN COUPLE!! please please please produce more dramas for this ONSCREEN COUPLE!!

hi paul, just to know is Ann consider female leads in both dramas on the one with LNX and the Rui En one next yr? Cos in 企鹅爸爸 like this show more focus on male stars isit? and in Happy Family with rui en this show more focuses on rui en as the lead ? so which means ann are just supporting cast?
cos i feel its quite a waste if she is a supporting cast due to her good actings and her these few mths good comeback REN Qi.

To anybody here who think Fann is now busy with married life or wedding planning, I would like to correct you all :
Fann has been very busy filming 1 project after another. After filming
the movie The Wedding, she immediately flew to Shanghai to film a TV
drama serial, after that, she filmed The Ultimatum, then filmed a China movie, then now she’s filming another China-Taiwan movie in China & Taiwan, at the same time she’s also filming Fashion Asia in Japan for Ch U.
People thought she’s busy with her wedding cos Paul told people
here that Fann is very free. What type of promo guy is Paul?
What type of artiste manager is Mediacorp, to even allow their own
magazines to give misguided info to their readers, that Fann is contented
just doing endorsements (hinting that she’s not working???).
This year alone (until now), Fann had already fimed 2 TV drama serials, 2 movies, 1 variety show & 1 programme to commemorate her marriage.
She had also attended film fests in Shanghai & Bangkok. She had also
attended a fashion event in HK & did a photo shoot for luxury brand
Loewe together with a host of other Asian & international artistes.
She had also did a TV & print ad in China.
I can only say Mediacorp is a lousy company, who doesn’t even bother
to highlight all these in their mags. But instead, keep tellings lies about
how good & popular are those artistes who can’t even achieve anything outside mediacorp. Misguide the people in S’pore? Why is Mediacorp so
stupid????

nobody is saying that fann is free. the comments merely wanted to emphasise that there is one mediacorp actress (of course not fann) who is very super kiasu and irritating. she will keep clicking her own blog, so much so that hers appeared as “most viewed” in the front page. she keeps updating her own blog so that hers always appears as “the latest”. thus drawing attention to herself. u go check the 1st page when u click “blog”, u will know who i am talking about. she is quite a sick person. she is the same person who gives pple the goose bumps when she appear in some tv commercial in that vain smile and voice. the writer of the comment is not referring to fann but this person. he is saying that although fann does not update her blog so often, she is still so popular and pple still want to find out about her, unlike that woman who keeps drawing attention to herself, when actually nobody is interested to know anything about her. of course, everybody knows that fann has reached a level that she is known overseas regionally and internationally so there’s no doubt fann is very busy with a lot more high level projects than just local dramas. the writer is just trying to bring out the contrast between “that sickening woman” with those whom he thinks are so much more popular as listed in the comments.

Can we request Ann Kok to sing the theme song ? I miss her singing. Last time she sing theme/sub-theme songs like 福满人间,钢琴88 and some lawyer show and they sound so nice. Her Cd songs also very nice. I wonder why MCS never let her sing after she comes back. She is easily one of the best mediacorp stars who can sing well .
Chen Han Wei also can sing. Maybe both of them can do a duet for the show.

since main theme not confirmed yet, let ann kok sing lor, simple like wat. she got own album before. that time i buy 5 copies, 1 for myself, the other gift to my friends.
if main theme duet, then ann sing with li nanxing or chenhanwei lor. tvb always let the main actor or actress sing – mdc if do that sure success one like tvb.
