Here we are with a new star - the 8oth Countdown Day before we get ’Together 当我们同在一起’. You have seen Jeanette Aw and Dai Yang Tian versions, today we feature another MediaCorp star known for her brilliant acting talent. In this spot, she is seen dancing slow-mo to the oldie tune of ‘往事只能回味’ （尤雅主唱）.
The Executive Producer told me Constance’s role 很有‘味道’and she is a joy to watch on screen. She is especially ‘loud’ in the first phase of the drama as she is key to the story development between 郑各平 Zheng Ge Ping and 陈丽贞 Aileen Tan and also as a mentor to 欧萱 Jeanette Aw.
The EP is still deciding on who to sing the theme song and sub-theme songs and she is not ready to confirm…guess we will have to wait for her to make that final decision…

jeannette is so so so pretty…of course she’ll be the best actress lah! who else huh? actually comparing eelyn and kola, i prefer eelyn. that kola is too “china face”, unlike 715, who is like singaporean now. dyt also don’t have “china face”, so i don’t mind him.
from the photos, natural expressions come from aileen tan, hong hui fang, jeannette, eelyn, lin liyun and wang yuqin. i don’t feel that they are acting.
all the rest, i can feel they are acting.
who is that apparition? his name has a “ping” as one of the chinese characters. can give him best imaging award?

Wasn’t this supposed to be a light-hearted drama? Then why for most of the pictures everyone looks like it is the end of the world? Not that I mind though. Sometimes I like really sad dramas. As long as it is logical…

Whether Jeanette will get the Star Award for the Best Actress is really immaterial. I will not put it as prime importance. Fans of Jeanette, we don’t pressure her, ok.
I think we should not put too much pressure on all our artistes in the Star Award and there should be a better way of appreciating our artistes.
I rather you call it ‘Appreciation Night’.
Someone should really ’sit down’ and think of a new way of rating our artistes. Staff appraisal and performances should be confidential and personal, therefore I hope to see Star Award Night to change to Appreciation Night. And let artistes performance rating be something private and confidential.

I agree with you that we shldn’t put pressure on our favourite artistes. How can the performance rating be something private and confidential? We definitely need the awards. And I think the star awards definitely appreciate artistes already by giving out top ten most popular artistes and by prioritizing popularity over acting skills. Pls do not remove the professional categories at all. That would make our local TV industry look really immature! I would very much prefer if the popularity awards be scrapped away instead.
Having said that, I must say that the star awards judging criteria has not exactly been very credible since the second half of the decade. I admit honestly, I am one of those who still do not believe that Joanne Peh actually won best actress, over Chen Liping & Fann Wong & Jeanette Aw. I have rewatched TLN twice since its airing, and I’m simply not convinced. Likewise, Cynthia Koh, Zoe Tay, Aileen Tan and Ivy Lee’s performances have been left out in the cold. Gosh!

Haha, I love these pictures a lot! Jeanette looked gorgeous in the photos. So did Kola. Well, Jeanette Aw is already the Best Actress in our eyes. An award may be a confirmation from the judges, but not the viewers. As an artistes, I think the most important thing is to win the trust and love from the viewers. Jeanette, if you see this, I would just like to tell you that you are really a wonderful actress. I believe you will put up a good show for us when the show is on air. Also, I think it is time for our “Lao Niang” to pull off the awards next year. Although filming has not ended, I believe she have been putting up a very good show during the filming process. Aileen Tan, the awards next year will be yours. The only person I think can fight with Aileen is Hong Hui Fang. Constance Song lack the appeal. She did not carry out the smirky look which i expected from her. Eelyn Kok looked rather haggard on the other hand. Dai Yang Tian and Elvin Ng, hats off to you! Great improvement!

When the drama is on air, we will know who gets to the top, and who falls behind. Such an aggressive competition amongst these artistes which I think none of you can afford to miss out a single episodes!

Jeanette look great in the photos. Hope it will really be her year this year because last year is a total disappointment. But even she didnt get it this year, to me and people who believe in her she’s already our best actress already. Anyway, this year so many people acted in roles that are ” ugly” and “old” and “ah lian” , normally this kind of ” abnormal role” will sure win even thou Jeanette is acting as a bargirl, but too bad she didnt get rape or get ugly.. But it’s alright Jeanette, we doesnt need such kind of role to proof u are good. Because you are good already. =) And cheers to Constance too, keep it up you will get your recognition too . And i am sorry Paul, but i feel that DYT will not be able to act well in this drama, not because he cant act is because he is too new. Times are needed for him to brush his skill, but little time was given to him to improve himself. So i wont be watching out for him in this drama, and i am puzzled why just a heavy role landed on him.

It may be true that little time was given to DYT to brush his skill but the drama Together not even air yet, how can you penalise him now that he cannot make it leh.
Why Mediacorp gave such a heavy role to DYT, definitely have their reason too. For a drama to be produced, from script, plan,cast , produce till air, many factors and many parties involved ; Drama head , EP and all relevant dept had to sit down to discuss to see who shd get the role, they must have their valid reason to chose DYT for Lin Xiao Bei role. It was not easy task.
Give yourself a chance to watch the drama and give all the newcomer of Mediacorp to prove themselve too.
Am sure DYT definitely can make it, with his hardworking quality and determination. So do support him and support this blockbluster drama, TOGETHER.

Regarding the theme song, i think the popularity of the singer is not important. Just one that can sing & bring out the emotions required of the song.
i hope there would be more emphasis on the lyrics & tune of the song. Since so much has been put into the production of the film, lets complete the package with a “dramatic” song.
When i watch the repeat of the old shows esp those in 80s and 90s, i felt those songs can bring out the emotions of the show. Those singers may only be normal xin yao singers then.
Though the production has improved, the quality of the songs seem to hv deteriorated esp over the past 2 yrs.
Really hope the songs for “Together” won’t disappoint.
And yes, Constance Song is cool.

The very fact that she has won invisibily in the Little Nyonya and I think that affirmation is enough, so another award is immaterial.
The Star Award is good as it makes the media industries matured but our audiences and reporters are not matured. They write ‘rubbish’ and out of proportion news on the nets, the newspapers and other websites that tarnishes our artistes reputation. And that is why I am not for it. But it is not fofor me to decide, it is the management decision.

Just personal feeling I find out that JA, Ge Ping, Aileen, Yu Qing, DYT, Elvin, Kola, Eelyn, Hui Fang, is more and more likeable recently, either from their personality or their acting.
JA, Kola and Eelyn looks very pretty.

I really feel that Iweekly shouldnt have say that jeanette and elvin is PEI CHENG to Dai yang tian in the new drama. Because honestly, in term of experience and acting skill he is still way far from them! Why is media putting him so high up just because he is handsome??? Honestly, viewers put aside that he is handsome can he act? yes and no… but be honest with yourself and you know the answer. Anyway, the truth will be out soon but anyway editing help artistes that cant act alot thou.. So disappointed that just because he is up and coming and other artistes who perform better than him is being called ” PEI CHENG” …

YES we are worried that JA will lose even though she acted really well. You know its like no matter how hard we try and put in our effort, we cant reach our goals. That feeling is terrible. And Ja has really long deserved the award but luck is always not on her side… I dare say that Star awards 2003, she is also at almost the same level as CLP. Holland V, she acted pretty well.
She could have made history then by being the youngest actress to win. But MDC didnt gave it to her as she is INEXPERIENCED.
And, FAnn wong was also nominated for so many times already. But she only won once.
However, I have confidence that she will bagged the award star wards 2010. DEFINITELY! And nominated for 3times but did not won is not too much. Its only the 3rd time

To DYT
You are still young as compared to Elvin. Your potential to be a ‘big’ star and to be recognised is also very promising because you have the ‘look’. To be fair to you, I have not given you much ’support’ because you are still new and the journey is a long one for you to experience and take more roles to be of equal standing with 715. So continue to learn and to concentrate in your acting skill, you can make it someday.
You are very ‘lucky’ to be able to co-acting with Jeanette taking the lead actor role side by side with her in two mega block bluster drama. If you want to succeed, put your heart to your career first, then others later.
The journey may not be a smooth one but that is what most artistes would go through when they are young and new in the industries.
Your screen partners can be Koh Yah Hui or even Felicia Chin for a change rather than with Jeanette most of the time.

It was out in the chinese newspaper today that the road is gonna be closed for filming…till 4pm. I passed by that street at 5plus,the road was partially closed, not the whole street..probably due to the massive traffic jam. Dai yang tian was filming, probably selling newspaper(?) and zheng huan was sitting at the side with his usual nerdy look =X
