1st Preview:Together 当我们同在一起 video here on this 60th Countdown Day

The video you have been so ‘kan-cheong’ to catch a glimpse is finally here at last! Be the first to watch it before millions of viewers get to see it on TV now.

Oh…and a special ‘当我们同在一起Together’ jotter book gift was specially created for the top advertisers and clients at the trade show today looking just like this:

This video was edited off whatever footages were made available to us (excluding scenes now being filmed in Malacca). You will see Dai Yang Tian, Elvin Ng, Jeanette Aw, Zhang Zhen Huan and Kola Zhou’s dramatic transformation, including Constance Song, Wang Yu Qing and Hong Hui Fang. The photo on the left is just a quick composite of the cast for the booklet distributed at the trade show today.

This was the ‘controversial’ photo which ‘inspired’ i-Weekly to make the claim that  欧萱 Jeanette Aw and  黄俊雄 Elvin Ng are ’downgraded’  to ‘supporting’ stars as they were seen positioned at the sides with Dai Yang Tian in the center.

Haha…this is taken too literally lah… 戴阳天 Dai Yang Tian is no doubt the drama’s  灵魂人物 but his story would only come through well involving and evolving with the others stars.

As you can see from the 1^st video, every star is just as important to the success of a drama (even with a supporting role played by Constance Song). The real mega TV and Print campaign will roll out soon and you will see many different versions featuring all the stars.

 

Today marks ’Together’  60^th Countdown Day and  郭蕙雯 Eelyn Kok is the big star.

There will be 2 popular stars/singers chosen to sing the theme song and sub-theme song). Both songs are written by music guru  梁文福. The main theme is an emotional piece demanding a singer capable of evoking deep emotional depth in the vocal (guess which singer can make you cry simply by listening to the voice?) while the sub-theme is a ‘love-till-it-hurts’ ballad (guess which singer can make you feel the gentleness in the voice?). Both songs will most certainly shoot up on the 933  醉心龙虎榜 chart. I will blog about them in my next post tomorrow…

And of course, I will be blogging about the mega-all-star trade show event with photos and videos soon (gotta spend some time upload them lah…you think very easy ah…hehe)…

    Wow! I was absolutely impressed by your Station’s ‘dramatic & intense’ video clip! It looked like a movie-trailer. I like the background music very much! After all the 60s Chinese music in all your past ‘Together’ countdown clips, this was indeed a refreshing change!

    If it’s local singers, the main theme would be sung by Weilian and the sub-theme by Joi Chua.

    If it’s overseas singers, main theme would be by Aska Yang (OMS 1) and sub-theme by Fish Leong.

    Just wild guesses, hope to see some surprises =D

    From the video, the dramatic transformation should be JA & ZZH in hostess & transvestite role respectively.

    Kola Zhou very sweet looking.

    Eelyn Kok look “too old” among the young casts, her smile is too exaggerating in the countdown video, can’t see her eyes only wrinkles & lines around her eyes.

    paul thanks soooooo much for the video! it was amazing to say the least! not sure whether i’m being biased, but i totally love jeanette’s acting! her emoting, to me, is undoubtedly among the best in mediacorp! i really really hope that her talent and hard work gets recognised at the star awards next year

    kudos as well to the rest of the cast! from what i saw in the video, everyone has really put up a wonderful performance that was really the driving force behind the little nyonya’s success – the hard work put in by everyone involved in the production, all working towards a common goal, namely, to make the show a success and as enjoyable as possible for the viewers

    it may still be too early to speculate anything, but the early signs certainly point towards the right direction Is ‘Together’ destined for greatness?

    Fantastic show put up by 6. If I were to range the 6 just by this video, here goes..

    6. Eelyn totally fell flat.
    That’s all. Fascinating video. Constance Song looked like how she was supposed to look like and she brought out a very evil sight which I think is going to earn her the Best Supporting Actress Award unless veteran Hong Hui Fang takes the baton at the last minute. Way to go people!

    ecstatc for dawn yeoh. she is making her way back on screen. together with pat mok, they were both “jie mei” for fann&chris wedding. now dawn will be performing in star charity. she is actually a very gorgeous lady. when i first saw her as the blind girl acting with pierre png, i thought she has a very very clear voice. she has the youth, bubbly and likeable smile. put her next to felicia chin, dawn yeoh will definitely outshine the former. if i’m not wrong, dawn can marginally make it into Top 10 female artiste in sa2010. keep giving her more and more exposure, especially dramas, if possible.

    how r u been? i busy rent tvb shows. but i got read your blog. next time i update u my list. too bad together go ipoh malacca, my work cannot let me go there this period. so happy fann got married finally to chris lor. then my favourite pat mok oso on the wedding show lor. so happy kym going get married lor. she humble no show-off, wont spend too much, maybe she keep it simple.

    but tonite paul i da bolek tahan, must post comment leh. because u show EELYN!! other people, no jealous pls. she still my best favourite. i see that video hor she look different liao. like chameleon. i think dai yang tian acting like not bad leh. damn natural some more he handsome. the guy point gun at him i think is andie chen. he not bad too. u knoe, paul, every time i see EELYN i got energy leh then sure post. but i still like jeannette too, jeannette fan don’t jealous, i still like her, dun worry.

    looking forward to the show, because of jeanette! I hope this show is just as nice, if not better than the little nyonya.

    I wished fiona xie didn’t quit this show though… That role is SO suitable for her. Eelyn just has no appeal for me…

    Anyway, I like the feel of the show. & I definitely think this show will propel zhang zhen huan and the other girl (the one besides eelyn and jeanette) to stardom. Elvin looks extremely good in this show too. But obviously jeanette aw remains as the star and the highlight, her acting just keeps getting better!

    Let me touch on the bad ones first before I proceed on with the good ones. I will start off with Dai Yang Tian. Being the lead of leads, I think he is under-performing. Probably a role like that is too heavy and pressurizing for him. Should have awarded this role to Qi Yu Wu. When he shouted at Desmond Tan in the short clip, I cannot feel the anger in him. He just acted without expressing the expressions that he should express. He merely shouted the lines out. Horrible! Next is Elvin Ng. I think Mediacorp should give Qi Yu Wu or Tay Ping Hui his role. Elvin Ng cannot act, period. I think its extremely obvious and visible to everyone. I don’t know why but he just don’t have the punch of an artiste. When I look at him, yes, indeed he is hot. But he just don’t have give the viewers a feel that he should. Despite giving plenty of chances to shine, he fell flat and short. Totally no point intended but still.. you know. I can tell that he is trying his very best to improve though. I mean, this is a heavy role so I hope Mediacorp won’t gamble on such a risk in the upcoming produces which has not decided on the casts. Last but not least, Eelyn Kok. She looked horrendous. Her smile was out of place and all. She did not produce a very materialistic and seductive look which I believe she should have did so. Sometimes I wished Fiona had not pull out of the show because I believe she could have did ten times better than Eelyn. Eelyn is an artiste who is neither here nor there. Not too good and not too bad. So how? Top 10 Most Popular Female Artiste, no for me. That’s all for the bad ones. The good ones now. I can see that Kola has tried her very best and she has seized this great opportunity given to her to shine. She’s gonna’ be the next big thing indeed, Paul. I hope the viewers will give her such a confirmation that she will need to pull this off well. Zhang Zhen Huan now. In The Ultimatum, his performance was extremely dull. But this time round having given a second chance, he has pulled up his socks and worked towards success. At first when I was informed by my friends that he was chosen, I wasn’t so happy because I thought he might have spoiled the entire show. But he just flipped the table around and thrashed the rest of the them in the show and live the show up like Kola and Jeanette. Well done! Last but not least for the good ones, Jeanette. She has been showing us that she has got what it takes since Holland Village. She was given a second chance to shine further more in The Little Nyonya and she has succeeded shone brightly. And after such a huge comeback from the danger zone, she is given a role in Together. Jeanette Aw is just becoming better and better. She is impressing the viewers. My mum did not like her initially but now, she loves her! She feels that she has got so much of potential like Fann. (My mother prefers Fann to Zoe that’s why I did not mention Zoe.) Jeanette Aw is trying her best to stay and the top and shine at the brightest by not falling. Well done Jeanette. The expression that she carried out at towards the end of the clip was very very i-m-p-r-e-s-s-i-v-e. If you have missed that out, check it out! Touching on the veterans now. Constance has definitely pulled this role out extremely well. I agree with Zenia above that she is going to earn herself the Best Supporting Actress Award. However, what’s yielding her is the strong and serious contender in Best Supporting Actress category, Hong Hui Fang and Xiang Yun. Hong Hui Fang was given a lot of chances to shine this year and I believe that if she shines in this role, she’s gonna’ make a huge comeback in her career. In terms of popularity. Xiang Yun is showing her capabilities now on Baby Bonus and she kind of carried it out well too. Most probably catching the last baton to the Best Supporting Actress is Hong Hui Fang. Such an aggressive competition going on between them. Best Actress Award, I’m going all out for Jeanette Aw this time. Serious contender of that category is Felicia Chin. Also representing Baby Bonus like Xiang Yun. Extremely exciting challenge next April, gotta’ tune in to the Star Award 2010 BIG TIME! Love you Mediacorp! <3

    anyway, the biggest judge is the audience, they will invest their money to call for their favourite artiste, as to who can make it to top 10 sa2010.

    well, am saving $ for ann, dasmond, eelyn, jeannette and rui en. but i think jeannette and rui en have a bigger fan base. and ann and dasmond have been missing for a while. will try to invest 10% each for jeannette and rui en, followed by 25% each for ann and dasmond. 30% will be for eelyn, 1st-timer.

If you are pissed about me, passing such bad remarks at Eelyn, then just vote for her and make her go into the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes next year! She will get the recognition that she “deserves” then. The problem over here is, she is not even in the nomination list! So how are you going to vote for her? How much are you going to go to show Singapore that Eelyn is such a wonderful actress? Tell me! Well, you just showed your true colours. If you hate Felicia, then jolly well don’t come to this blog. I am not the writer of this blog but still, she is popular. She is recognised by the people. Hate her for all you want because there is nothing you can do. She is famous, period.     felicia famous? even dawn yeoh is more glamorous than her. let’s wait and see lor, if people are prepared to vote eelyn in, then let’s see who mdc will decide to nominate lor. btw, feli is not that good lah. looks plain jane. u can try to take a pic of jeannette, dawn yeoh, eelyn and her. see the effect. who will stand out who will not. am quite sure ja, dy and ek didn’t do anything to their eyes….not every 1st price winner of star search make it big time – look at ix shen, and the taiwanese guy who recently recorded an album. it’s people like ann kok, phyllis quek, christopher lee, chen hanwei, zhang yao dong, priscelia chan, yao wenlong etc, non-1st price winner who are doing so much better than their counterparts who are 1st price winner. so your felicia, who used to be 1st price winner in star search is no big deal, u got it? in terms of acting, she’s quite ahem…BAD.

Who do the audiences like more? No doubts, Felicia. If you would like to do a reality check, ask yourself, who has been making it into the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes and who has been the one that is not even nominated for it? You talk like you are the one who decides who makes it into the nomination list. You wanna’ see who Mediacorp nominates? We shall see at the end of this year. You just go around promoting Eelyn because you like her. Please, if she is famous, she won’t need this promotion from you. You say that I go all out to pull Eelyn’s popularity down. Do you have any evidence to back up your words? If no, you can jolly well shut your trap. I don’t even have the compare Dawn, Eelyn, Felicia and Jeanette because it has been clearly shown and it is recognised by the audiences the only Eelyn is not in our dear “7-Princesses”.     Ron, let me tell you. I’m not giving up. Neither do I see the need in giving up because there is no competition going on over here. You categorise Felicia and Joanne together-Attention seeking on stage. Do you have any idea that you have now offended not only Felicia’s fans but also Joanne’s fans? Your forte is to talk big. If you have no idea what your forte is, it is talking big. Yes, talking BIG! You can save crapping over here. I repeat, we shall see who the public is prepared to vote for into the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes. Your dear Eelyn is going to suffer a glorious defeat because Felicia is going to get a hell lot of votes in next April. Why is there no space for Felicia when she is one of the “7-Princesses” when Eelyn is not? Look, Eelyn is 30 and Jeanette is also 30. Is there a good reason why Mediacorp did not promote Eelyn to be one of the “7-Princesses”? Well, clearly, it is not because of her age. Mediacorp nurtures actors and actresses with a lot of potential in terms of their acting skills and popularity. By all means, doubt Felicia’s. We will see, we will see who goes home with the awards next April. Mind you, you are giving Eelyn undue pressure by doing such a foolish thing-Initiating a fight on who is better, Eelyn or Felicia.     paul, understand that people from the zoo are barbaric. why do fans of felicia seem so barbaric? beats me. looks like they spitting sputter when they couldn’t stand being embarrassed. actually, they should just let the rating decide lor. like nyonya did well, jeannette played a key role. housewives holiday did well, ann played a key role and my buddy did well, eelyn played a key role. it is a very objective measurement. why is this a firing squad or battleground?

    It is difficult to describe eelyn’s smile in the trailer, especially when she tries to break into a smile. she looks a tad innocent and sweetly vain to seduce – don’t know if this is what the producer require her to do. saw in a trailer on youtube. she was holding dyt’s hand and running, hong huifang chasing. she really looks like an innocent young girl being led off to escape from her irate mum. the trailer which shows her spraying perfume on her neck with dyt behind her shows that she has a “nuaghty” smile but she has to exude some vanity. don’t know if this is the impact the producer is communicating. basing on the trailer, i think her character is a bit naughty, cheeky, vain but sweet and gullable at times. will have to watch it to find out more.

    i feel amazed at how different eelyn has evolved yet again. from women of times to the shining star to love blossoms 1 to the peak to rhapsody in blue to the little nyonya to my school daze to my buddy. she seems to be ever changing in style and expressions. how does she manage the different feelings? studying? practisin? role-playing? i see a very different eelyn this time in together – is she that one lucky girl?

    I LIKE EELYN KOK VERY MUCH – she seems to be a very simple gal, unassuming – non-attention-grabbing sort but the attention just graciously lands on her. she seems to focus very much on her job so that feelings of the character overflows forth from her basing on how she interprets the role. it’s about interpretation. i like her because she is unassuming. not a “hyper” person or something who tries too hard – just honestly honing her skills. i don’t think anyone should be jealous of her growing popularity. she is 30, a prime age for a lady. in terms of thinking, acting and working attitude, human relationships, emotions, she should be at a very mature point. she rises slow and steady. when she accumulates experience and exposure this way, from supporting to lead, like xie shao guang in the past, it is actually appropriately healthy for her. she reaches a point which people can accept her well and people feel comfortable with her, whether she is acting good or villian roles, so she has so-called past the test of being liked even after repeatedly being villians. this is impressive. SO, FINAL ANALYSIS, EELYN CAN BE A LEAD ACTRESS FOR A LONG LONG TIME TO COME, not just three years. even when she reaches 36 or 37, she should still be very beautiful, in fact beautifully matured. the other 2 actresses worth mentioning are constance song and ong ai leng – their acting is fantastic – the only problem they are older and mdc may have to tailor-make certain lead roles for them separately.

    Wow, Eelyn is so popular in this blog! She must be really good huh? April is the month where everyone of you who supports her in this blog will open your mouths wide and wait for a fly to fly into it because she has a very low chance of making it into the Top 10 Best Popular Female Artistes unlike Felicia. As usual, most of the princesses will get a place in it. Eelyn as Top 10 material? Maybe two years down the road when she really proves to everyone that she is a good actress and win the hearts of the people. This coming April, it’s a no-no.

    dear EPs: do we feel a little unfair towards eelyn kok?
    just a little bit of opinion, humbly. please receive it openly.
    she’s kinda of poor gal, i personally feel she has the looks, height and persona to carry off a 1st lead non-villian role beautifully. but somehow, except for the one in my buddy, she always ended up being a villian. i like to see her move on from villian to something better. she has trully proven herself to deliver villian roles although it is never easy to do so. the chances are she will be “unliked”. despite this, she is still very much liked by many. but truly, if she has progressed and we all can see the improvement, isn’t it time and fair to render her something better? although i have no doubt she will again excel in playing this villianess role in together, can we have her play a heavier role of a person with better character in her next drama, which i hope to follow soon after the broadcast of together?

    i really admire you for your courage to take on repeatedly without complaint villian after villian roles. your attitude is truly remarkable. i can see that you are happy in whatever role you are given, even one that is “left behind” by another person. yet, no matter what sort of ugly roles or characters you take on, you have touched the viewers’ heartS. that through the villian’s wrongdoings, we viewers learnt a lesson. thank you, eelyn that you are who you are and i truly love to watch all your shows, whether you are an angel or a devil in the show, because you help to portray precious lessons from it and teach one and all who watch not to do what the villians do. thanks thanks thanks for taking on those roles,,,,,,,,,,,EELYN KOK:)

    since you seem to have gained much popularity over time, would you consider rejecting “nasty” roles or will you stick to be very “accepting” of “wicked” roles and assert yourself more to get “more favourable” roles like some others? is work attitude more important to you than getting favourable roles? personally i think you have the calibre to 1st lead a favourable role and even be an ah Jie. you are quite pretty like jeannette.
