   I like ZZH & Yuan Shuai (although very small) roles in New Beginnings as they’re totally different from their previous dramas. The main leads roles are a bit boring, it would be better if the pairing is of other artistes different rather than JA & EN, TPH & JL.

   to Jesseca, she is quitting showbiz, but to Dawn, MCS did not continue the contract with her (am I right?), so would Dawn still stand any chances of coming back?

   (Paul: Because she is caught in her existing contract according to report by xinmsn and it is not appropriate to discuss new contract)

   Oh my goodness! I was completely blown away by the two female leads in the preview video. Nothing short of amazing.. Both look very pretty and poise. Quite disappointed that Jesseca Liu is leaving Mediacorp.. She’s such a fine and pretty lady whom I think everyone will love. Wishing her all the best in the next industry she’ll enter.

    From the preview video & story outline, it looks like same old story or 武侠小说; taking revenge & fall in love with the person you supposed to avenge.

    Prefer Rhythm of Life as it is more thought provoking story.

    ZZH & Jesseca pairing & the ang moh couple , Bobby Tonelli & Jade Seah should be interesting to watch.

    I so happy for Jeanette She acted well in all the emotion scene . I’am so excited for the shows. Well done.

    Jeanette voice and pronunciation had improve alot. No more high pitch & irritating voice and she really work very hard. Hope this time Best actress will be her

    Who is the lady who acted Jeanette Sis? Her mandarin is so terrible. Too much of the slang.

    Just managed to watch the preview not too long ago. i think Jesseca and ZZH actually look quite sweet together! i never expected them to match each other well coz of their age difference. but from what i see in the preview, Jesseca doesnt look older than him.

    seeing Jess’ smiles could really bring up the joyful mood! the EP made a pretty good choice to cast her on the red side. haha. oh and i think joshua and hhf did pretty well too.

    and about the knock-knock interview, i do agree with one of the comments above that her answers were simple but truthfulness was heartfelt =).

    haha music companies/producers can start approaching Jesseca since she’s more than happy to accept their offer if they would like to release an album for her!

    Thanks for the interview with Jesseca! Really appreciated. Since Jesseca said that she may consider taking part in dramas that require less than 3 months of filming, hope that mediacorp will still give her chances so that the audience can still see her onscreen.

    I really love to see Jeanette, Jessica, Elvin, Ping Hui, Hui Fang and Mei Jiao on TV.
    They just look terrific, very likeable to watch.
    Hope to see them more on TV this year, it’s a pity have to say bye bye to Jess.
    By the way Tracy, if I am not wrong, who acts as JA’s sister, really needs to improve more, it’s still uncomfortable to watch her acting.

    jeanette did a good job in New Beginning too; she looks so youthful and pretty despite the simple outfits she was wearing. when one is pretty; she looks good in anything. jiayou jeanette.

    the rest of the cast like elvin, tph, jessica and zzh looked just as good.

    can’t wait to watch the drama.

    Nice interview with Jesseca Liu! She is looking great every single second in the videos..Her acting is not bad in the preview as well but I think the role is quite familiar with her role in Baby Bonus since she has expectations for love etc..Not much space for her to ‘fa hui’..The next time when she returns to act, EPs should try casting her for different roles!

    Also, why did you say that this is her last inteview with you as as artiste? She said she will b back!

    The actress who acted as Jeanette’s sister is from Channel 5. I remember her acting was quite natural in Red Thread. As usual lah, it is her mandarin enunciation that pull her down.

    I realized that Jesseca did not answer a very important question in the starting of video part 4. Mr Paul asked her how long will her break be and whether she will be back in Langkawi, but she only answered the second part of the question. Mr Paul, did she tell you how long will her break be?

    Saw the xinmsn news about the new combination of seven princess. Well not a very

    good combination. I still prefer the old 7 princess JEANETTE AW, RUI EN, FIONA XIE,

    DAWN YEO, FELICIA CHIN, JESSECA LIU AND JOANNE PEH . Pretty and acting was perfect

    and the combination was good. If want to have a new group of 7 princess, please

    choose artist that are singaporean. Singapore 7 princess. But i prefer not to have this

    new group. Try to groom Jeanette Aw, Rui En, Felicia chin .The new Ah-jie to be.

    this morning, i happened to tune in ch8 at 12 noon and there is old drama “Hai De Er Zhi” which Jesseca is the leading cast. I believe this is one of her early drama but i can see her acting so natural..it can’t really tell she is a new comer in that drama.

    it is kinda a waste for her to go, from the interview i can sense that part of her leaving is because she didn’t have a chance for a good role..most of the roles she acted are quite similiar and decent type.

    that recalls me a chinese phrase..英”雌“无用武之地。。。

    Be careful there. You may just offend alot of princesses’ camps with this comment.

    4 main errors with your comments:

    1) Timeline. At this moment in time, I dare swear that MCS won’t put Jeanette and Felicia together with any of them the lead over the other. Plus, 2 of Jean’s lead over Fel were bcos of the fact that Fel just came in showbiz and the last one, TLN, shouldn’t be taken into consideration as Fel’s role is considered a “Ke Chuan – Guest Starring”. So that’s totally off. (:

    2) There are too many variables in your comparison. The number of shows, the combination, the time the show was casted etc etc. Hence, it doesn’t make for a fair reflection of the situation now. For eg. RE and Jean has no show together, how to compare? And, except for Jess’s collaboration with Jean recently, what other collaborations are there for 2009 and 2010 which btw, is the present, to show accurately who is the top “princess”?

    3) You left out many other factors that should be included in this analysis. For example, what about the total number of lead shows be it 1st, 2nd or 3rd lead these 2 years? I have Felicia for 3 roles last year with 1 upcoming in July and RE with 1 role in Jan, and 2 upcoming in May and Aug. Jean has 1. So how? (:

    Another factor could be how versatile each princess is. Felicia, Fiona, Joanne and RE has got hosting gigs. Maybe only 1 for Jo and RE, but still. Oh, Felicia is the only princess with a live hosting in her resume among a couple of studio hosting. Does that make her the “top” princess then? Fiona has so manyyyyy more hosting gigs than the rest. So is she also another “top” princess? Do you get what I mean now? Your analysis is so one-sided that it’s quite laughable.

    4) Since you brought out so many dramas long long ago about how Jean > other princesses in terms of leading roles, I can also say Fiona, Jesseca and Felicia dominated the endorsement scene up until 2009 when Jean joined their ranks. Considering the number of years the princesses held their endorsements, that would make Fiona, Jess and Fel the “top” princesses! But no, it cannot be like that right?

    Jean’s endorsement are per product basis or on a short-term contracts (except for SK Jewellery which ended even before the rest came in), which means in dollar terms, she is not on par to other princesses’s peak endorsements. Does that not make her the “top”? NO. Because that would be too one-sided. In fact, if it is one-sided, this would make Felicia the top since she held Silky Girl, Tweety and Vitagen all these while with Watsons, OTO, SweetDreams MCFree and countless other endorsements on short-term contracts. Not to forget Fiona – Marigold, OSIM, among many others.

    I hope you get my point. While I understand that Jeanette is a reigning princess, and that is what you want to emphasize, but I would think you won’t want to say she’s at the top, until she really is, right?

    I like the new preview of New Beginnings. Fresh concept as well and it truly captures the essence of local culture and something everyone can relate to.

    On a wider note, after Your Hand In Mine, I really like the direction Mediacorp is going whereby shoots are done more in the open rather than in the studio. Hopefully as tie passes, we can get more of such productions.

    I’m so disappointed when Joanne Peh won the Best actress last year. The award should be given to Jeanette Aw.I knew life is full of surprise. However was too surprise.

    However this year the chances of Jeanette getting the Best actress is lower compare to last year.

    It’s very apparent that only Jeanette Aw fans are always claiming how good she is and how the other Princesses or other actresses pale in comparison to her.

    If JA is so good, then why do reports surface in papers to say that her acting is “wooden”.

    If JA is good, let the public decide.

    Why always need fans to say how good she is.

    A good actress is one where even the media and public will say you are a good actress.

    For example, in early days, Zeng Huifen, she is a very good actress.

    Huang Biren and even Ivy Lee are also Best Actresses winners three times each.

    Even actresses like Hong Huifang, Aileen Tan, Xiang Yun and Cynthia Koh etc have been praised by fellow actresses.

    Only when you have the good praises from fellow actresses and actors are you truly a great actress or actor.

    Sounds like JA fans are just trying to keep saying how good she is seemingly trying to convince the judges panel to give her the “Best Actress” award.

    What a cheapskate tactic.

    I am very sure JA, herself do not want her fans to behave in this manner.

    Be gracious like other fans of other actresses and actors, be respectful of others.

    We all know that the top spot battle between the 2 Ahjies has been ongoing like for forever but the situation is, the likes of Chen Liping, Huang Biren and Ivy Lee (previously) etc, got diversified roles/more shows than the 2 Ahjies instead.

    蚌鹤相争, 渔翁得利.

    The Princesses are scarcely remaining with just 4 left, but ain’t the 4 the finest of the lot, at least in our opinion? What use is there to be the top of the 4 when there’s no dramas suiting them?

    Fans of the Princesses should now unite, and stop pulling each of them down. The 4 are meant for bigger things, all 4 of them.

    And how about this, an idol drama blockbuster for the 4 Princesses and the 4 Princes (DYT, Elvin, 715, ZYD) next year? If with a proper storyline, substantial script, lavish budget and setting, equal attention and role development for each of them, I’m sure this would be a much anticipated drama.

    Paul, will Ch8 consider this?

    (Paul: I dunno…just my personal opinion…a idol dramas with all of them will not do well because everyone will be fighting to be lead…a lead is only good in the hands of a good team – producer, writer, director, supporting actors, etc)

     2.Zoe tay(I got no time la..3 kids..how to handle?so i cannot tahan work + family so i quit.
     3.Fann wong(I got chance to act overseas..so i quit mediacorp,no big deal la)
     4.Joanne peh(Bobby and I are married,so we are migrating to US)
     5.Felicia chin(I wish to continue my studies,so i quit)
     6.Elvin ng(Jeanette married that 715,jesseca went to langkawi,now i have no one,i am a swinging bachelor,so i quit)
     7.Tay pinghui( mediacorp without jesseca is like no world to me,i decide to quit)
     8.Ng Hui(mediacorp bully me,always i play supporting roles,so i quit la.)
     9.zhang yaodong(same reaason as ng hui)

     um maybe or maybe not i think. if the Jeanette Aw fans are really insulting every other princess and their fans then its most likely that the fans of other princesses are jealous of Jeanette Aw since she is very sucessful and the some other princesses are not as sucessful as Jeanette so the fans of other princesses insult jeanette aw and sometimes harshly criticise jeanette because she’s the preetiest of all the princesses.shes so fair.jeanette is indeed a chinese beauty.the other princesses that are preety are jesseca liu because she also is fair.joanne is not as preety as jeannette and jesseca because she’s so dark.the joanne peh fans most of them criticise and insult jeanette because jeanette is more sucessful and they are greedy because to them joanne has not had a fair share of sucess but she has.the sucess of the little nonya mainly due to jeanette aw because the two characters that she played appeared in nearly every scene.the jeanette aw fans are not wrong to criticise the fans of other princesses who criticise jeanette.

     wow. it really is unpleasant to read all these quarrels at the end of a day. although yes, i do think that some fans purposely bring down JA because they are jealous (no, don’t worry i’m not referring to the fans above), i also think that SOME overly-protective JA fans play a part in stirring up quarrels. so, it is a two-sided thing. that said, why can’t you guys just get along with one another… it would make this blog much more pleasant to read. if others criticize your favourite artiste for no particular reason (i’m sure we know the difference between constructive and destructive criticism), maybe, the fans can just turn a blind eye and ignore the comments? we all know fighting back will only backfire. defending an artiste is fine; i just think it can be done without being offensive at the same time.

     Hi, just to inform you, the New Beginnings image which is at the start and end of the drama(the one with many rings with different chinese words) has a typo, it says New Beginings instead of New Beginnings…
