The one single episode of 综艺 Go Live featuring the Live telecast of Shaun & Michelle Chia’s wedding banquet turned it into the year’s most watched variety show (per episode) in the entire year! And that was just Shaun and Michelle.

With all the mega-media attention focussing on this singular Wedding of the Year, I won’t be surprised that Tuesday’s Live telecast of The Wedding at Shangri-la could possibly overtake the highest record of the finale of ‘The Little Nyonya’. Part 1 and 2 already surprised me with so many people tuning in…and tomorrow’s is the finale LIVE! 

The media may be blasting loudly about how many zeros behind the huge bill of putting up such a wedding but I am interested in how many zeros I may get for the viewership’s numbers…hehe…

Tuesday’s evening also mark the end of Hong Kong serials on Ch 8 at 9pm with the finale episode of ‘Heart of Greed’ screened right after ‘The Wedding’. 

Goodbye 港剧, Hello 本地剧. ‘Baby Bonus 添丁发财’ will signal the return of local dramas on Wednesday.

This is no ordinary Tuesday.  It is going to be one Tuesday we will all remember… I seriously don’t think upcoming weddings of any pair of artistes will be able to beat this…not unless it’s Jeanette Aw marrying Dai Yang Tian or Qi Yu Wu…

After Tuesday, what’s next you die-die must watch? ‘Pregnancy of the Year’? ‘Birth of the Year’ or ‘Baby of the Year’?

Haha…just kidding lah, you ‘tan-gu-gu’…

Yet, no one was angry with him at all at yesterday’s ‘Baby Bonus 添丁发财’ press conference held at the new Klapsons Hotel. It is the adorable Yang Yang (he is barely 15 months old) who played the ‘unwanted’ baby ‘Olympic’ – son of Felicia Chin in the new drama ‘Baby Bonus 添丁发财’. 

The Producer told me that this baby could repeat the desired action as requested of him a couple of times on cue…giving you the exact expression for different camera angles!

Watching these videos, you somehow get this feeling that it’s about time Ping Hui considered settling down and becoming a father soon…he showered so much ‘fatherly’ love for Yang Yang lor…hehe…

Plus, I really think Jesseca Liu is very humble. She didn’t mind at all taking up the seat at the side of the stage (despite repeated prompting from Tay Ping Hui to shift to the center). She also didn’t mind hidden in the shadow for a group shot…  Zoe Tay once said Jesseca is a ‘bo-chap’ girl but I think she finds security in her own Christian’s faith…she showed no anxiety, not kan-cheong about fame and looking pretty contented…

‘Baby Bonus 添丁发财’ (23 episodes) will debut on Channel 8 at 9pm from 30 September. Besides this cute baby, I like the new Felicia Chin as ‘Ah-Lian’ and her chemistry with Tay Ping Hui and Xiang Yun. Next to that 15 months old 神奇 Baby 扬扬 (more about him later), you did not loose out to him in becoming a ‘scene-killer’. Never knew you have that 莲 DNA in you…haha…

This is the kind of a performance in a drama I feel would be one to impress the viewers (even changing those who ever doubted you) and the ultimate judges…yes the judges at Star Awards 2010.

Your role is being described on paper as a 化妆柜台小姐，兼职模特儿，七月跟妈妈一起跑歌台。好玩爱闹，有小聪明，爱慕虚荣，牙尖嘴利，出言不逊, 小辣妹一个, 未婚先孕, 视孩子为包袱 blah blah blah…

Colleagues who have seen it also felt you got the role moving in the right attention – it is really not an easy task for any actress to play this role well and not ended up becoming irritating.

红星大奖的‘公主杀手’? I personally think you have a good chance of scoring it big this time round…you already played it well without relying on any over-the-top scene-stealer settings like being tortured or becoming ‘xiao’ in ‘The Ultimatum’.

I am not implying that such scenes are easy to play but you have just proved to naysayers that you could still excel in a simple role without those ‘bells and whistles’ and worthy of a Best Actress nomination. Other Princesses will have an uphill task to beat you for your efforts in this drama…

A blockbuster naturally gets all the attention but sometimes a small 小品 product like this may become a surprise hit. It’s a simple 20 episodes 趣味温馨家庭剧 script with likeable characters – Tay Ping Hui as a  忠厚老实人 (read more on the new and dumb-dumb TPH: http://www.xin.sg/article.php?article=31941&st=dtl) and Xiang Yun as a 风骚歌台歌手 are some of the other likeable roles in the dame drama. Others 有林梅娇，刘芷绚，朱厚任， 林明伦， 洪乙心还有客串演出的杨伟烈（人家要读书吗）。I already can’t wait for the other episodes to watch them first…haha…

I have many things to share about the 神奇 Baby 扬扬 and other stars…soon after my press conference next Wednesday… ‘添丁发财 Baby Bonus’ will debut on Channel 8 at 9pm on 30 September. Main theme song  靠近 is sung by 刘慧祺 and sub-theme song 给幸福一点时间 is by 杨伟烈   and 我的爱人 by 向云.

Felicia Chin 陈靓萱 as Apple 黄丽萍

Tay Ping Hui 郑斌辉 as 李家成

丽萍的邻居，暗恋晓阳，后成为晓阳男友，但又和丽萍卷进了三角关系郑发财的雇员，从学徒做起，虽已是维修部主管，却经常出外送货，俨然是家具店的一脚踢。

性格：忠厚老实、有上进心，勤劳苦干，是个老好人。16岁那年，因为一场车祸父母双亡，从此成为发财家具店的学徒。任劳任怨为发财工作。

与黄家为邻，和Apple成为好友，常帮她看孩子。Apple母亲美玲非常欣赏家成，一直希望能够招他为婿，家成却暗恋着发财的女儿晓阳。

家成为了追求晓阳，力求上进，还不惜改变自己，还为了帮晓阳实现梦想而卖掉组屋，节衣缩食。可家成发现晓阳。。。 

Besides the above Felicia Chin, Jessecca Liu and Tay Ping Hui, ther main stars include Apple Hong, Darren Lim, Xiang Yun, Lin Mei Jiao, Zhu Hou Ren and Terrence Cao.
