Preview 1st: 2nd Official Launch Trailer of ‘最火搭档 Unriddle’
This is the newest version of another twist and turn of the upcoming big drama ‘Unriddle’ starring Rui En, Chen Li Ping, Tay Ping Hui and many other veteran stars.
Just finished shooting stylo mood shots of Rui En and Chen Li Ping today at a studio to be used for creating drama poster and ads… More on 8gg blogsite.
Recently, media declared that now it is the time of 欧白年代 (literally referring to just Jeanette Aw vs Joanne Peh). But I think they have missed out on a formidable foe in their midst – Rui En. 2010 is Rui En’s best year with 3 uniquely different roles. A nomination for Star Awards 2011 Best Actress? You bet.
Don’t expect the usual for this drama…it is going to stick in your head for a long long time…and by the way, there will be many countdown versions rolling out soon…each will feature one of the characters ‘evaporating’ into the air literally….

you’re still repeating the same baseless arguments, without refuting any points defending our opinions (note: not idol). please stop resorting to personal attacks on fans: “naive”, “blinded” etc. such words makes your opinion less credible and unconvincing.
there’s nothing wrong with having earthly desires – everybody from your estate cleaner to the top dogs at top firms have them. but there are many ways to achieve them and not necessarily through unethical means. there are so many singaporeans today striving towards similar dreams, and you can find so many success stories who have achieved it through sheer hard work, luck and talent. by creating double standards, you are being terribly unfair to the artistes.
i don’t see why just because celebrities are celebrities, they are not given the respect that we usually give those that are not in the limelight.
comparing faye wong to local artistes is inappropriate. for a start, faye wong is from china which has a 1.3 billion population. given the proximity to mandarin-speaking taiwan and hong kong, it’s easier to be immensely popular. singapore; population? what kind of neighbours are we surrounded with? plus, we are unlike china whose’s main language is chinese. the entertainment industry is not an isolated industry and free from geopolitical implications, among others.
what’s bad business? “bad” is such a vague and subjective word; what’s bad to you may not be so to others. what’s your benchmark? can you justify it? what’s the credibility of your benchmark? if you’ve already said that with such conviction and so vehemently believe that you’re right, i’ll just follow your train of thought. don’t you think what you have said is very contradicting? since you’ve already condemned mcs’ productions as failures overseas, why should mcs’ bother to find someone who is able to be marketed overseas and should just simply concentrate on the local market who already knows who Rui En is? aren’t you just simply acknowledging Rui En has a pretty high market value in singapore?
i implore you to reflect deeper and not rely on pre-conceived notions, hearsay, and skewered opinions before you start making limp, fluffy arguments AGAIN.

haven’t you heard or saw how bad mediacorp business is? that’s why no budget to produce more dramas, had to produce a low-budget 180 episodes YHIMH to fill the 7pm slot? that’s why even queen zoe is worried about pay-cut, cos many left cos of pay cut. mediacorp dramas are NOT sellable outside S’pore & M’sia, so do you think they cast RE cos she has market value? who knows RE outside small s’pore? think lah.

Looking forward to Unriddle! Love RE’s new image. Long hair looks fabulous on her.
Felicia’s role in No Limits is pretty awesome too. Mediacorp has given her a nice exit with such a crowd pleaser role. While her BabyBonus was definitely more nomination worthy, I’m certainly hoping her goody-goody role will appeal to the judges at SA next year.
Oh and Jeanette! Two roles again huh? :/
Anyway, just glad she snagged the Evil Sister role. Like finally. Looks like the BA list for next year will definitely have Jean in the field.

Please do not make such allegations against the actresses if you don’t have substantial evidence to back them up. You’re simply forming your opinion based on a very flawed notion that just because Rui En has made unpopular decisions, the only way for her to continue her career is to suck up to the bosses.
I’m not sure if you know exactly what sucking up entails. By sucking up to somebody, you’re pandering to their wishes. It has been well-publicised what Rui En’s wishes or stands are, we need no introduction. But hey, have we heard of her pandering to the bosses and being forced to compromise? If you’ve heard, you may surface them. For no profit-motivated company would make a transaction that doesn’t provide them gains either in the short run or the long run or both. It’s not like a simple case like pouting your lips at your parents and begging for a lollipop. Making the company satisfied with you means you can contribute to it.
And this leads to the next point of your claiming that Rui En has strong backing. Well, what makes you back or support someone? Because you find the person useful and reliable. If you say Rui En enjoys strong backing, it thus translates to Rui En possessing something that can contribute to the industry. Since this is the entertainment industry, are you then admitting that Rui En has talent? And that this has been her propeller throughout the years that she has been in the circle?
Furthermore you stated that Rui En has no wishes of winning the Best Actress award because she will be seen in a certain light that she personally doesn’t like. Putting controversies aside, the best wins. In other words, you’re insinuating that Rui En doesn’t put in her best efforts in portraying a role so that she will not be mentioned in the same breathe as Huang Biren and Chen Liping who are acknowledged for their acting credibility?! (Madness.)
Regarding the lack of buzz surrounding our artistes, it’s easy for the audience to say it because we are the one who are receiving all the food. Yet, have you ever thought that such behaviors are HEALTHY? Do you REALLY want to live in a nation whose top hobbies are like that? There are so many more things in the world to be concerned about. Just because it’s more exciting doesn’t mean that it’s more beneficial.

With respect to your observation of the huge number of posts you see on this blog affirming Rui En’s acting, you must first understand that Singapore rarely has websites dedicated to local entertainment news with an acceptable feedback platform AND are read or run by people in the industry. Surely, you would like someone to read your comments and not feel ignored. Secondly, this is a generation who depends heavily on the Internet. Plus, Rui En’s fans are mostly students and young adults who fall in that generation. Thirdly, Rui En is a low-profile figure and doesn’t appear in the news often. Hence, it’s little wonder that they choose to express their views on this blog given such circumstances. So a concerted effort as suggested may not exactly paint the most accurate picture.

Hi Paul,
Thumbs up for Singapore’s longest ever drama Your Hand In Mine, and hope that MediaCorp can produce the next long drama soon!
However, the ending should have been broken up into a few more episodes to better explain the portion of 8 years later. It was 180 episodes but it could have been more, and many people will feel the after effects of the drama from tomorrow onwards just like the end of the World Cup last week.

I too think that RE is lucky this year, with 3 fantastic opportunities, can I even complain?
But all opportunities, are double edged swords. If you do well, good for you, but if you don’t, you deserve it. Opportunities don’t drop from the sky, at least not everyday, if you are ill-prepared, no matter how good the script is, how good the role is, you bust it! POOF!
This girl worked hard for it. I’m not saying she’s the only one who works hard, there are plenty others who worked hard and didn’t get their opportunities. But when opportunities finally land at their feet, you know they would be good. This is what we thought happened to RE. She got her opportunities, she did well and I praised her. The world can make do with a little more smiles, more praises and more encouragement. The opposite of which wouldn’t be missed by any.
But, when I praise, I don’t lie. Because a fabricated or exaggerated compliment is an insult :/

Hey Paul. Is it possible to request for an interview with Joshua? He’s leaving and there’s not much about him in Unriddle and there’s no him at the press conference. Even the casts photos, he’s not in it. This is so not fair to his fans and him as well! Can you like do a short interview with him so that we can know more about him before his last day in Mediacorp. Is it possible?

Well it seems that rui en is way too lucky, mediacorp is really giving her all the good and unusual scripts. She has 3 dramas this year and all lead and good roles.
LOL, nothing is always equal and fair in this world. So fans of rui en need not be jealous of others. Your idol is the luckiest of all.
And well a simple fact, scripts and roles matter and opportunties matters most.
And for this drama if have good ratings , for sure rui en fans will blabber and boost and lift rui en toi the sky saying because she acted “”WELL”" that’s why got good ratings. haha
If this drama don’t have good rating then don’t blame others, it’s your idol acting that cannot make it!!
I have nothing against rui en , but have long observed and know a huge number of her fans stationed here and when ever got her drama or blog posts, they will all appear in a bunch and start praising their idols perfecting her. LOL

not sure what is the real story of unriddle, but i always like this type of CID show, diff from those family/housewife show that is frequently seen this year.
by the way, can you let the production team of Your Hand In Mine know that the last 50 epi of the show is very nice ? If only they have started like this. Now i abit sad not to watch it. Acting gd, plot gd, songs (both main & ending) also nice.

Hey Paul. Is it possible to request for an interview with Joshua? He’s leaving and there’s not much about him in Unriddle and there’s no him at the press conference. Even the casts photos, he’s not in it. This is so not fair to his fans and him as well! Can you like do a short interview with him so that we can know more about him before his last day in Mediacorp. Is it possible?

Don’t expect the usual for this drama…it is going to stick in your head for a long long time…and by the way, there will be many countdown versions rolling out soon…each will feature one of the characters ‘evaporating’ into the air literally….

wow rui en pics are so cool and like a model lol haha. yup i agreed 2010 is rui en best year with 3 different roles which she definitely nailed the chance given to her. arhh about best actress nomination i would rather not talk about it.

The new trailer is good (glad that the music is different)! What happening when everything become uncertain? It totally brings out the essence of the drama. I can’t wait for more trailers and 4th Aug to come!
Yes, Rui En is often missed out by the media when they are talking about the new Ah-jie or when making comparison. But I think it’s ok. The audience will know in their heart where does Rui En stand after finished watching her 3 dramas this year, and hopefully the judges will know too.
So far, those so called Blockbusters by MCS (The Little Nyonya, The Ultimatum, Together) have roadshow. Hence, I feel it will be relevant and appropriate for Unriddle to have one too, since you labeled it as a blockbuster.

Wow Paul, the trailer is great! Makes me anticipate the drama just as much as how I anticipate Rui En appearing on the screen again.
Haha and Rui En’s pose in the photos reminds me of The Matrix and her attire is a bit like Lara Croft but less skin and all cotton huh? Haha.
Oh btw, is there a possibility of a roadshow for Unriddle? Understand that it will definitely be an organisation nightmare to plan one with so little time left but I’m sure sincere fans would be very appreciative of Mediacorp’s efforts.
