A bit disappointed that the weekdays 7pm slot is now going to be showing 爱 when Your Hand In Mine finishes. While I don’t dislike 爱, I’m dismayed at seems to be a further lack of commitment towards local drama production, as well as the lack of choice from showing the same thing seven days a week until June 2011.
Channel 8 has been neglecting the 7pm slot for years now. I’m not sure what is going on behind the scenes, whether there is some sort of cost-cutting involved, but Channel 8′s local drama output in the 2000s has declined noticeably in quality, quantity, as well as variety. For the past few years, it seems like Channel 8 has all but given up on producing its own content for the 7pm slot, and is just filling up the time with a mix of Malaysian dramas (some of which use recycled scripts), 长篇剧 (one long-running drama with 100+ episodes can 搞定 half the year’s programming), and HK dramas. Now, by showing 爱, there will be no local content in the 7pm slot for the next 12 months!
I miss the SBC/TCS glory days when there were attractive quality local dramas in both the 7pm and 9pm slots. Remember the days when TWO blockbusters would air at the same time e.g. in 1996 when Unbeatables 2 aired at 7pm and Xin Ah Lang aired at 9pm? Some of the most memorable dramas of the 1990s came from the 7pm slot too, like 阳光列车. And not only did Channel 8 produce drama serials, it also produced monthly telemovies, sitcoms, and anthology-type series like 第三类剧场.

Seriously even though it is a very popular show (so it seems in MediaCorp standard, but don’t know why the people around me, except for my mother, do not like that show…), please do spare a thought for the non-fans. To show it at primetime EVERY NIGHT is really a torture to us.

Have been wondering if the online contest is the reflection of the type of audience that Unriddle hopes to capture and touch – the young individuals and adults who use the internet for a plethora of reasons and their main tool of communication.
But please do not neglect the other types of audience and promote this drama aggressively too through the traditional platforms of tv and print.
Hope to see more publicity attempts in the coming weeks that’s befitting of a blockbuster.

Hello Paul, do you know what happen to Mio TV? Did it change it system, because now I realised that they only upload 1 new eppisode for each new drama daily, unlike the past, they will upload about 5 new eppisode at one go per week.

Love Unriddle’s Trailer! It looks veri interestin! Thou Joshua is not the lead in this show, but hope to see more of him! Hopefully there will be a roadshow on it and if there is I hope Joshua will be there!! It’s been a few mths since his last OE… Really hope to see him! Please make it happen!! (If possible)

AI is not an auntie show per se. The soul of a drama is not about the audience, but the way it is written. A more apt description of AI would be that the drama is archetypal of lazy scriptwriting: with shallow and one-dimensional characters, written purely to sensationalise certain family affairs. It also lacks heartwarming and emotionally uplifting stories. Where’s the LOVE in the story, when it promises so much of that soooo glaringly in the title of the drama? AI is just a lazily written; not an auntie show.

How can AI Xie Ming Ming, a television character be compared with historic characters? ._.
Nevermind it’s fiction, but it’s cringe-worthy acting plus stereotypically and shallowly written character be of any meaningful comparison to super-woman of the past?
Unriddle seems interesting (balanced viewpoint – in case any one complains).

I’m a fan of LOVE too!! Would sit infront of the TV for 3hrs! This drama is addictive,it’s definitely not a “aunties show”!
