it was a pretty good drama! hopefully there will be sequel! but just like what one of the above comment – i hope that mediacorp could produce Meta 2! (okay, i will dream and pray. HAHA)
i want to really comment on RUI EN, CLP and Andie Chen’s performance.

Paul, if there are plans to shoot Unriddle 2, please use the same leads again. I don’t think the audience can accept other actors taking over their places, especially RE. It’s been very apparent that many viewers are watching it because of RE and her chemistry with CLP. Many of them are of a younger crowd and it has been pretty well-publicised that not many young adults are watching MCS shows but this show has managed to attract their attention. I feel that it would be beneficial if MCS can continue reaching out to this age group since it has managed to gain a bit of attention from them via Unriddle.
Hope there will be an Unriddle 2 where the characters can be deeply developed and have a well-written script. Like a twist in RE for the worse, causing CLP and her to be estranged. The Dylan-Yuze issue is very interesting too. Hope the materials set at the end of Unriddle can be put to good use, as well as use the criticism as learning points.

The ending was tragic. Dewei’s love for Xiaoman is commendable but of all people, he just had to be the cold-blooded serial murderer she was hunting down. Sighz.
Kudos to the scriptwriting team though for thinking up of so many touching storylines!!
Kudos too to the director, Rui En, Andie and all the suspects in the drama! It must have been a challenge choreographing the expressions and reactions to fit the storyline and yet at the same time, not reveal the answers to the mysteries outright prematurely.

I m not a mediacorp show fan but wow was i blown away by unriddle !
My family was surprised that i religiously wait infront of the TV at 9pm.
With a cliffhanger like this in its last epi, there’d better be a part 2 !

Agree with the idea of a movie, as someone above has suggested.
Viewers have no beef with the show but with the ending so a movie that answers the questions at the end of the finale might be a better idea than a sequel.
The dual stories of Yuzhe & Dylan and how Da Bao’s & the lives of her families will be affected provide more than enough meat for a script.
A movie is also very accessible as tickets prices are more wallet-friendly, especially for the younger following and students.

I love and “hate” the ending. Love it bcos of the suspense. There are a lot of riddles for us to think about in this drama, even till the last moment. The ending brings out the essence of the drama. “Hate” it bcos it doesn’t look like an ending, but it’d ended. Haha.
Do consider having a sequel. If there is one, RE, CLP and TPH must stay. The Dylan guy should be given a lead role and hopefully I can see Xiang Yun too.

I really hope there’s unriddle 2. Would love to see Charlie Zhang act the bad guy again in Unriddle 2 as Savage’s big brother? To me, he is quite adept and talented in acting as an antagonist in the story just like Shaun Chen.
I think many viewers would also love to find out the rivalry between Dylan and Yuze, maybe this time the secret animosity between them could be the main focus of the show just like the 15 year old secret between the five police in Unriddle.
Overall, for Unriddle, the concept of having a main riddle (Yu ze’s disappearance) throughout the episodes with some mini cases to crack along the way is original and it appealed really well to my family esp for Yuze’s case as it offered a lot of 思考空间. The process of unriddling cases were smooth and brilliant as it really put us on tenterhooks at the end of each ep esp the Shaun Chen’s case at the part where Ani was kidnapped, when we would worry about whether she would take the drug or would Bun be able to save her.
However, methods of solving certain cases could be more realistic. As I often realise that Xiaoman often made use of facial expressions and emotions of the victims or criminal to deduce their involvements in the crime which is quite far fetched and sometimes, cases were solved coincidentally such as how Bun managed to locate Cai Zhiyong’s uncle, Liu Zhiming after her friend’s friend happened to arrive and recognised Liu Zhiming’s photograph.
As for the cast, everyone acted their own roles to perfection. As for Rui En, it was undoubtedly yet another stellar performance from her. At the last few eps, I thought that Dewei really showed lots of potential with his apt portrayal of anguish and dejection. HOPE THAT THERE WILL BE UNRIDDLE 2!

Nvr thot of having a sequel to Unriddle. Was rather bewildered n annoyed at the ending. Did the scriptwriter run out of ideas for it? Was also hoping more could be told of Hu Guang Ming (Xiaoman’s father). Sigh. Since the ending left every1 on a climatic high with several uncertainties, I think it’s only appropriate to hv a sequel. Hopefully, Xiaoman’s father will appear then?

Thumbs up for the twist of plots here and there. I must say, I really commend the efforts by the producers and actors/actresses. How many a times do we get open-ended ending for season finale in local serials? It’s definitely worth the risk, and I’m hoping for a part 2.
Question of the day: Is it possible for Unriddle part 2 to be made into a movie instead?

I like how the short stories flow in the show.
It’s just nice so that it’s always refreshing.
As it goes, 物以稀为贵.
Hope that there’s more interesting stories to come along,my fav is the one with shaun chen.

i really love the Unriddle drama it was really awesome drama Especially Have RUI EN .
she really acted very well in this show that show different character in one drama itself really very awesome done!! The drama was not just a drama but really like hollywood movie really i mean it…
Can see Rui En hard work especially her hurting ankle despite the Pain she still Run and chasing those baddies was something especially the part she chase after andrew where she have to run up the stair.. i really pei’ fu’ her…. i doubt a normal people will do it…
For the ending was really good and clear cut those who really catch it will understand..

I think the ending really doesn’t make sense and is totally unnecessary unless the scriptwriters and producers are planning for a sequel. Still I think the show was great! Something different from all the ‘family’ and ‘baby’ shows we’ve been getting. And not like the other police shows because it has one main case that ties up the entire story, and because we have Chen Li Ping coming in as an informer. Rui En was great acting as a CID officer, but I really wish we could’ve seen more of TPH, CLP, and RE together..
Please please please have a part 2 with the same main cast!! But of course, expectations will be high, and by the time the show comes out (which might be 1 or 2 years later?), viewers would already have forgotten about it..
On another note, I think it would be cool to have behind-the-scenes footage of the filming process like what they do for movies and taiwan 偶像剧:)

Loved the way the show began and ended in the same manner. As if it never ended. If there’s Unriddle 2, story wise might be possible but can Rui En and Chen Li Ping get to show off their acting? They must be more than narrators or storytellers like Unriddle. Nevertheless, job well done! :/

Tonite’s last episode is perhaps a milestone.
1st – the revelation, maybe we already know whodunit, of the killer may have a deeper meaning if we pause to reflect for a bit. Living with a lie, living for a lie or living a lie. Andie did a pretty good expression of ‘Oh my god, what i have done’ on learning the truth when everything starts to peal away.
2nd – there is more for us. Unriddle 2. Great. Love it. Savage’s brother !!! Love rivals !!! Who are they (the lawyer and gangster)? Good ending. Can’t still for Unriddle 2. But .. may be too far away on the horizon. 6 months from now, we will be suffering from memory loss.

Anyway Unriddle is such a templated show. And the questions at the end of the show are super funny and cartoon! I wonder what the producers are thinking to put such generic questions at the end.
The instrumental opening video is comical in the same way! It’s funny how they put titles like ‘homicide’ and ‘missing’ and the like floating about the opening video LOL. Putting this into perspective is like having a family drama with words like ‘family disputes’, ‘family love’, ‘inheritance’, ‘promiscuity’, ‘trust’ and the like floating about in the theme video.

To clarify some of ur misunderstandings, Jeanette is also good in ratings ma. Good in ratings does not mean every year top leh. The Little Nyonya viewership was the highest in 15years and will remain unbroken for a long time to come. And yes, we know that there are other factors that resulted in the sky-high ratings

it’s a nice and refreshing idea that Star Search is now prowling taiwan streets for new artistes .Taiwanese are known to be nice-looking and outspoken . Watching only the 1st esp of Star Search , there are a lot of watch-able star wannabes. No matter what the outcome will be ,and we know that MCS productions wouldn’t be able to propel them to much stardom since overseas chinese doesn’t watch MCS shows and local ratings aren’t good as well , but the current variety show itself is entertaining to watch , it is like SPH’s Ch U’s 明星总动员 ,which i really missed for kym’s and bryan’s wackiness ,evil comments, the light-hearted feel of the show and the nice looking pple on the streets.

Unriddle is one of the few dramas that I am willing to spend my time watching it. In terms of storyline, I think there’s still room of improvement, particularly in the front part of story. Nonetheless, I like the way how they link the different cases.
In terms of acting, I really enjoy watching Rui En as a policewoman and CLP as an informant. Though there are people complaining about the typical coolness of Rui En, but it is undeniable that she managed to bring out the intelligence of a ‘madam’ in her coolness. Which I doubt if any of us could potray it that well. In short, I enjoy her acting in the show very much. And would like to see her acting as some professionals in the future shows. For instance, a doctor.
As for CLP, she is like a catalyst to the show. Make it more interesting with her superb acting and experience. Her chemistry and interaction with Rui En is much of a highlight of the show also.
TPH is still so man and I think his imaging is just nice for him. He has the 苍桑 look that the role need for.
And surprisingly, I think Zhou Ying and Joshua did quite well in the show.
Thanks for producing such a good drama with so many good actors in it. At least, it doesn’t torture our eyes and challenge our patience. Hehe.
Just a two cents worth I personally think that Taiwanese Long Drama is abit of 拖泥带水.. Sorry but not my type =P

Don’t think there’s a need for Unriddle sequel. So boring. Really hope that Mediacorp can spend more effort and write more intricate and neatly-woven stories, rather than scope such narrow premises for the dull stories we see in Unriddle. The stories need more flesh and colour. That is why it isn’t as “thrilling” as expected.
Start a new premise of stories with a new Police Show. No Sequel Is Required for Unriddle.

i feel Rui En only 演回她自己 in this drama, nothing to surprise compared to her previous two dramas, but Chen Li Ping is good without any doubt。Another thing i am wondering why the director want RE to let her hair flying around when chasing the bad guys, i find it is not very practical …mayb they tried too hard to beutify her ‘madam’ look, but with a pony tail ( in last few episodes ) is not a bad idea right, i think she looks much better.

Unriddle has been a great drama, and kudos to MediaCorp for making weekday nights great! I’m happy for the high ratings, and glad to know it’s much better than the 7 pm drama!
Oh yes Paul, is it possible to shift Money Week and World This Week from Channel U to Channel 8 too to be aired at 10.30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays so that more people can catch the programme?

I remember few days ago when I said to Paul that “yesterday story is very interesting, the writer and director are very good in their own way”, some sour grapes try to say opposite ones for Unriddle.
It has been proven now that Unriddle is really a good drama.
Please really treasure them, they have acted very well in Unriddle :
Chen Li Ping, Wang Yu Qing, Rui En, Zhou Ying, Ping Hui, Zzen, Shaun, Brandon, Ge Ping, Ai Leng, Priscilla, Paige, even Candice unexpectedly could act very well yesterday.
Some others newcomers which I do not know their names, have acted quite good as well.
JUST a pity I am going to miss Joshua.
This Joshua really has talent, he has more talent and plus points than any others newcomers.
He just has to be moreee patient… a few years more, he could be very big. Its’ a pity….
A bit feed back for improvement: Rui En’s staff, especially the young lady, have to be trained more have to handle the gun and act as a CID. So it will look more convincing on the TV.
She is more suitable for CID’s admin staff.

It’s great to hear good response about Unriddle. I think the success of this drama goes to the whole team behind it.
The scripts is good. I like how the storyline often mislead us and give us surprises in the end. The characters are well crafted. For eg, the baddies in this drama may have killed some people, but there is always some tragic stories behind them. Though Priscelia and Shaun Chen’s characters have killed people, I actually can’t help sympathising them.
Credits have to be given to the whole casts too. RE and CLP has excellent chemistry. Zzen and Shaun are really good in their psychotic roles. I’m glad to see that even a small role like Dylan has a certain standard of acting skill.
Unriddle is really a very refreshing kind of drama among the recent ones. Hope that more of dramas with such standard can be produced, and MCS dun have to worry about viewership anymore.

Err. Long way too go leh seriously. I really hope Mediacorp continue to improve. It is improving already.
I suppose the good response for Unriddle is due to the lack of decent shows on Channel 8, and with a sudden appearance of a show that just reaches the minimum standard to be qualified as a ‘drama’, it is being held up as something deemed worthy of the audience time. I really hope Mediacorp continue to improve. It is improving slightly already, and please continue to do so.

I luv unRiddle. I luv the great acts and the actings.
Some actors went out of their way to fit the characters. E.g. leaner and meaner. Other look taut with muscular looks. I think everyone took their roles seriously.
On top of it all, there are many parallel stories running on. Main stories intermix with side stories. And the flow is continuous.
RE scores. LiPing … it took me 2 weeks to get under her skins.. a little heavy on weight but after that it was the stories that fed the audience.
Go MC go. This show did not let me down.

Reviewing the past year has been interesting. Giving an analysis of some actresses can show their future moving forward. To start the ball rolling, felicia is well-liked by some but due to her inability to ease up in front of the screen, she decided that an exit is better for her. courageous girl. good decision. Next, fiona xie, she definitely has the air of an actress but dragged down largely by her husky voice. a stylish exit. good decision. joanne peh has been time and again negatively discussed by people who simply dislike her, i don’t think we should ignore these voices. a chance here will not guarantee her stay in mediacorp, cos people who dislike her will continue to dislike her. her one-time award as best actress has often been criticised as a bungled decision. a gracious exit by her will be the best decision. jesseca is mild in personality and she is a sophisticated personality and her choice to leave has caused many to remember her fondly. a strategic exit by dawn yeoh some time ago may be instrumental to her comeback as she will kick it off with a role on the big screen. she will definitely be demanded back in mediacorp. as for rui en, she is a clear winner. the results by ‘with you’ and ‘unriddle’ will be solid evidence of her solidarity as the next queen. jeanette can only settle for the endorsement queen cos it’s going to be hard for her to overtake rui en’s current position. i view positively the future of eelyn kok, priscelia, kola and paige. the surge in newbies like tracy lee, tiffany leong and chris tong is only transitional the last three names will have no staying power in the local market. paul, just a friendly discussion. hope this is valuable to you and your team at mediacorp! here’s to better and better viewership! cheers!

Hi Paul, once again Rui en did well for the show. I thk she is more suitable for this type of show. The show is excellent partly bec of her natural acting. Really hope that there will be part 2 of the show. Btw, Rui en n CLP shown great chemistry in the show. Well done!!

Thanks paul! but of couse if there is unriddle 2, I guessed viewer’s expectations will increase too. As much as I want unriddle 2, but have to take into consideration that the script must be better than 1st season thou.
But nevertheless, I’m confident for our script writer(s).

Well… I must the whole “Unriddle” production team plus the artistes have done a splendid job in their first attempt in filming such a different kind of police drama. I am really so happy to see that the drama has received such a good response from the viewers.
