‘煮妇的假期 Housewives’ Holiday’ took the No.1 most-watched drama spot and became the first confirmed winner of the Highest Rated Drama at the 红星大奖 Star Awards 2010 ceremony. Will the 3 leading stars be as lucky as the drama itself even though it was screened on TV almost a year ago? 洪慧芳 Hong Hui Fang, 郭舒贤 Ann Kok and 向云 Xiang Yun – are we expecting an ‘all-in or all-out’ scenario in the 最佳女主角 Best Actress category? Will 欧萱 Jeanette Aw and 郭蕙雯 Eelyn Kok of  ’当我们同在一起 Together’ , 瑞恩 Rui En (未来不是梦 Dreamcatchers) and 陈靓瑄 Felicia Chin (Baby Bonus 添丁发财) stand a chance with these 3 loud ‘aunties’ around? What about 郑惠玉 Zoe Tay and 范文芳 Fann Wong?

‘Step aside, here comes 陈汉玮 Chen Han Wei!’ – I am not biased to say so as it is obvious he is really good. He didn’t get all the attention of so many Executive Producers to cast him in their most challenging roles if he was just an average actor. I will be very surprised if I don’t see his name in the Best Actor’s nomination list (my personal wild guess). He had three breakthrough roles in 2009 and he delivered them memorably. I really think it is no longer a question ‘if he could’ get a nomination…but ‘which drama’…

戴阳天 Dai Yang Tian and 白薇秀 Joanne Peh are confirmed as leading male and female stars for the Chinese New Year’s movie project! If you have grabbed the latest i-Weekly, you would have already read about it… 

Dai Yang Tian stars as the main lead: 外型高大英俊，乐观幽默，平时一副游戏人间的模样，但是一旦投入工作，则非常严肃认真.

机智有胆识，对队友，不论性别，都要求严格，显出男子汉的大喇喇强悍作风与魅力。其实另有铁汉柔情的一面，重情义，工作以外，对女性细腻、温柔，有求必应，难免让人误会他多情、甚至滥情。

DYT will have to make many tough decisions between 友情, 亲情 and 爱情.

Joanne Peh plays the female lead who is人如其名，率直纯真，性格爽朗，外表看似柔弱，其实是柔道黑带，父亲是醒狮队的负责人，由于父亲患心脏病，不能太操劳，她唯有接手父亲的醒狮队事务，虽然是女性，在以男性为中心的醒狮队和保镖行里，她都和大家相处愉快，如鱼得水，酷爱热闹的她，喜欢和几个男保镖一起喝酒聊天，出外表演舞狮…until one day…

There’ll be a lot of drama between Joanne and DYT and in between them comes this new actor…Pornsak!

Yes, this tele-movie will also star Pornsak in his maiden movie role.

An important lead role just next to DYT, Pornsak will play this 家里的独生子，父亲最大的愿望就是栽培他读上大学，偏偏高中时期，因为一次学生集体考试作弊事件被无辜牵连，连高中也毕不了业，父亲带着遗憾离世，他也因此和好同学DYT绝袂，直到许多年后重逢，成了同事和舞狮队队友，这段堙没的当年往事又被记起…

This may be Pornsak’s 1^st big movie role but definitely not his 1^st acting gig.

He will 1st be seen in a new dramedy  ‘妙探夫妻档 Mr & Mrs Kok’ (press conference on Tuesday 10 Nov).

A Chinese New Year’s movie cannot do without a fun lead character and 李国煌Mark Lee will play this guy known as ‘Auntie’.

虽然外型高大，但除了是男性，其性格和行为作风和Auntie没两样，但他以前没当保镖之前不是这样的，他原来是个警察，热爱他的工作，工作时有拼命三郎的作风，可是当年因为一次办案不利，被陷害撤职，从此志气消沉，性格大变没有大志，在众同事眼中，是个遇到危险就第一个跑的胆小窝囊。

多年后，当他知道当年是旧同僚所害，愤然与旧同僚决裂，但是，当好友再次遇难，他还是顾念友情，奋不顾身的解救…but…

The last time we did tele-movie was more than 10 years ago. This Channel 8’s CNY tele-movie will telecast on the following dates:

Sundays 8-10pm on 17^th Jan, 24^th Jan, 31^st Jan and 7 Feb…but the Finale will be on a Saturday 13^th February at 8pm.

I will be covering the press conference on Tuesday (10 Nov) of a new dramedy ‘妙探夫妻档 Mr & Mrs Kok’ (a non MediaCorp’s production starring Mark Lee and a powerful female lead star plus many other big stars and it was filmed with a visual texture like the drama ‘一切完美 Perfect Cut’ )…

Come Tuesday, the much publicised ‘Don’t Forget the Lyrics 我要唱下去’ world premiere of the first Mandarin version will debut on Channel 8 at 8pm. It will kick start with a special edition – the Comedians (Mark Lee 李国煌, Alamak 辉哥 and Michelle Tay aka 一大粒 of Paris & Milan).

As Mark Lee was busy filming another variety show and there was a production delay.  Host Zeng Guo Cheng 曾国城, guests Alamak 辉哥, Michelle Tay aka 一大粒, the whole studio’s audience and production crew waited hours for his ‘Majesty’ to arrive. A visibly upset host just hanged on there waiting and waiting…

Mark Lee arrived finally (he literally swallowed his late dinner while doing his make-up). Though Mark was also visibly tired…he was very professional and jumped straight into the role as a guest contestant. Likewise, host Zeng Guo Cheng also did not show his displeasure on stage…

‘Singapore Got No Host 新加坡没主持人了吗’ sets the tone for one of the best TV moments in recent variety show’s history. Mark was daring to shoot Zeng Guo Cheng blatantly and Zeng Guo Cheng knew exactly how to ’siam’ and hit back. All such moments were totally ‘unrehearsed’ and only the best hosts were capable to pull through. It was truly a night of the best local talent versus foreign talent.

Together with Alamak 辉哥 and Michelle Tay aka 一大粒 (Paris & Milan), this episode also wrapped up recording in the shortest time! Usually, a recording would last longer than an hour so that there would be enough interesting scenes to be edited into a tight one hour show. Well…not this one. The Executive Producer told me it was so fast paced and injected with the right climaxes that came fast and naturally, the Editor’s job was made alot easier.

If the show is submitted for any Asian and International TV Best variety competition, this episode with the comedians will surely be chosen as an entry for submission. It is that good. No bull.
