First & foremost I would like to say that i am really disappointed with the way Singapore voted for their idol. I have seen the idol contest & by far the crown winner is not on par with any of the past winners. More over the other finalist in the top 5 are way far better than him. Are we voting blindly or may i say deafly? I was hoping that Singapore would vote correctly but my hunch was true enough.
Male finalist + Many female voters = winner
Female finalist + limited male voters = 2nd runner up.
on a general scale i can expect this to happen in the next seasons. I don’t mind if the winner have what it takes to be a true winner but if there isn’t than what the point.
Don’t get me wrong, am not being racist but my critics are based solely on talent & nothing else. some of you are wandering who am i to say this. I have been in the Entertainment industry for 10yrs going 11yrs & i have seen & heard lots of good & bad talents.
He won & the decision is final, if he does show & form or improvement & be at least on par with our past idols then sadly, I wouldn’t even be proud to say “Do us proud on the Asian Idol platform”…

Anyway my prediction come’s true you are the 3rd Singapore Idol winner. I even sms a friend of mine still at Melborne ystd night , she too hoping you will be the next Idol. Well all the best to you and hope you will make Singapore proud sooner or later…

SEZAIRI WILL NEVER BE MY IDOL!
It is a very shock and disapointed result!!! My husband and I have been watching the Singapore Idol during the Top 12 finalists. We find that this year’s idol is competitive and there are a few good finalists. We presumed that Tabitha and Sylvia should be the top two finalists. Our expectation for Tabitha and Sylvia is very high that both of them should be in the top two finalists instead of Sylvia and Sezairi. My husband who is an established singer, musician and a songwriter predicted Sylvia should win the Singapore Idol. He mentioned that if it is due to the “Unity Spirits”, Sezairi fans will definitely vote for Sezairi to win the Singapore Idol! I think if this goes on, people will lose their interests in watching Singapore Idol. It does not concern races as long the contestants are singaporeans. To be fair, 50% votings/sms and 50% judges.
SEZAIRI!!! To be honest I was actually rooting for Sylvia. But personally I think the judges were “Promoting” or “Selling” Sylvia to the Singapore Viewers. The New Paper’s article on the day after Sezairi won didn’t make the front page??? Racist??? 3 male malay guys??? So what? And the headline was “Did last song cost her?” not “Sezairi WON because he’s good?”. Plus the malay community is the minority. you have 10 Singaporeans and 3 would be Malays. And its not FAIR Sezairi WON??? RACIST!!! I have many malay/chinese freinds who supported Sylvia around the top 8. She’s more ambitious than the others. but her not winning was not her fault. The judges were like complimenting her saying “It’s Sylvia’s night” and I was SHOCKED. She had better vocals than Sezairi but his perfomance was better. No offence to the Chinese Community in Singapore but many peopl I know who are Chinese supported Sylvia but didn’t not voted for her. So STOP calling it a MALAY IDOL when the chinese community(NOT ALL OF COURSE) didn’t vote, when the malays are the minority.

I voted for Sezairi as personally I see star quality and he’s really really talented musician not bcos of race.
Those playing the race card..they are forgetting..Malay population is only 20% of Singaporean population…so go figure and do the math. If all 20% have voted then he wouldn’t win the title AT ALL..
Anyway, most pple wants a CHANGE soooo bad to the extend that ‘why can’t a girl win this time’. Honestly, its quite ashamed if she still wins the title as she sang out of tune a number of times for the 2nd song but still wins. If that happens, Singaporeans is really desperate to have a girl Idol MORE than a gd musician.
Honestly, non-supporters of Sezairi are just too bitter to accept this TRUTH..

the problems are not the idols, the problems are YOU. if u want ur preferred idol so much, u go make their life better by helping her/him get a recording contract, buy their albums in bulk, chip in money and donate. stop whining. that
boy’s performance outshine this Sylvia girl that night. no doubt she is a good singer tho and that tabby girl, she is too, can hit the hi note somemore. but u can’t force someone who loves prata over cheesecake. it’s their rights. so if u don’t like the outcome, the problem is YOU. cannot accept the majoritys decision and try to make effort and unite, or at least accept with open heart and give support. poor ppl.

sezairi is an excellent musician!!! he’s an accomplished guitarist, expressive performer, has an interesting tone to his voice and a cool and winning personality!
and that is why he deserves his title.
thinks its funny how people are suggesting Singapore Idol should not be based on public votes anymore. Sure, let’s leave it to our “professional panel” of judges… After all, they did a ‘FANTASTIC’ job crowning Miss Singapore this year..LOL!… Anywayz…to those who are not happy with the results..don’t talk much, silly…Vote to keep ur favourites to the top next season!!…….what a shame to call yourself Singaporean….!..MOVE ON you LIPS SERVICE PPL!!!!

Yup! Totally agree with that. Too many NATOS and backbenchers around. Otherwise you might not even see him as the finalist.

It just so happened that this year’s Singapore Idol is just as hot as the American Idol season with David Archuleta and David Cook. The judges were promoting David Archuleta; yet, David Cook won. They’re both good singers. Between Sezairi and Sylvia, they’re both good. I am also for Sylvia but as I watched Sezairi’s performances, I say that he has the chance to be the idol and this happened. Congratulations to Sezairi! Goodluck on your way and also to Sylvia
As we are all already aware, the race ‘card’ have been thrown away excessively with distaste… 3 strikes and u’re out.. might as well ban malays from any idol contest anyone (for obvious reasons, bigots here have stated). Lets look thru’ the fact
1) If u dun vote, your idol won’t win. SO STOP BITCHING and VOTE.
2) If u vote more, your idol’s chances will increase. SO STOP BITCHING AND VOTE MORE.
3) If u dun vote and ur idol loses, U LOST UR RIGHT TO BITCH ALTOGETHER.
Since format of SI cannot be changed, producers should seriously consider other options to take away the element of “vote hijacking” by a particular group through multiple voting. Multiple voting do not reflect purchasing power at all, which should be main focus of SI voting system!
Moreover, this season showed us that issues in SI can spilled over to society rather or not those critics watched and voted SI. It is not good for national stability and unity. I think producers should take prudence in this matter.
Thirdly, this season winner is now for a fact become a divisive figure in our society, unlike the first 2 idols. This division is not about losers and winners but more dangerously along racial lines. So, I hope Mediacorp will be more transparent in declaring the votes-breakdown. Since the finale, there has been no news on general vote break-down. This time, I believe, will be better if vote break down should include demographic break-downs. I think Singapore and the winner deserve such facts to be reveal so that any doubt can be dispelled!
