张启明： （李铭顺）43岁。前囚犯。
Zhang Qi Ming (Christopher Lee) 43 years old ex-convict
Honest, simple-minded and down-to-earth family man
Zhang Qi Ming is an ex-actor involved in a television program, “The Gambling Ace”. He became buddy with fellow actor, Lai Jian Xing and together, they indulge in a gambling obsession.
Qi Ming ends up in jail in when he is caught at a underground gambling den raid. He becomes a taxi-driver after his release and looks forward to starting anew.
赖建兴： （周初明）41岁左右。
Lai Jian Xing (Chew Chor Meng) estimated 41 years old, a smooth-talking hard-core gambler
He is a doting husband who lives by this personal philosophy – A man can own a fortune solely through windfalls. He had his hay days when he spent frivolously. He justifies his every action with the sole intention to provide for his beloved wife.
Jian Xing injures his leg in an attempt to save Qi Ming during a gambling den raid and is unable to walk normally. Unrepentant, Jian Xing plans to make a comeback in gambling after his release.
吴美芳： （许美珍）40岁，典型的阿嫂，相夫教子。
Wu Mei Fang (Cynthia Koh) 40 years old, a devoted mother and wife
A devoted mother and wife, Wu Mei Fang sacrifices a finger because of her husband’s hard-core gambling ways. Mei Feng takes on the burden to clearing Qi Ming’s debts when he was jailed and turns to betting for fast cash after a successful windfall.
许淑敏： （郭舒贤）39岁，辅导中心电话辅导员，兼志愿警员。
Xu Shu Min (Ann Kok) 39 years old, a tele-counsellor and police volunteer
Anyone can read Xu Shu Min like an open book as she rarely hides her feelings. Shu Min puts complete trust in her doting husband, Jian Xing, who promises to turn over a new leaf upon his release.
When Shu Min was young, she witnessed her mother plunged to her death because of compulsive gambling. Despite having counseled many gambling addicts, Shu Min is exceptionally sympathetic towards those who threaten to jump to their deaths. She develops deep hatred towards loan sharks and is terribly hurt when she discovers that Jian Xing has never given up gambling despite his promise and that he has become what she detests most, a loan shark.
张必胜： （方伟杰）20岁，启明的大儿子，有小聪明，本来品学兼优。
Zhang Bi Sheng (Ian Fang) 20 years old, son of Qi Ming and Mei Feng
Zhang Bi Sheng is a doting brother who is academically capable. He acquaints himself with bad company that leads him to seek thrills in soccer bets, thus neglecting his studies. He becomes a loan shark runner after getting himself in debts and turns to illegal dealings, landing himself into deeper trouble.
张思悔： （谢静仪）15-17岁，可爱甜美，聪明伶俐，非常节俭。
Zhang Si Hui (Kimberly Chia) 15-17 years old, daughter of Qi Ming and Mei Feng
Zhang Si Hui is a bright young lady who is extremely thrifty. She loves to save but splurge her savings on branded bags. She detests gamblers. She is deeply scarred by the many occurrence when her father empties her savings to satisfy his gambling needs. Unable to forgive her father, she calls Qi Ming, “Uncle”.
