Years ago, before I really undertood what pilates actually was, I tried the mat based class at gym once. To be frank, didn’t feel much.
However, ever since I read about the machine based pilates, I was suprisingly amazed, but never got a chance to get my hands on it untill lately at Focus Pilates.
These machines, they look like…torture machines in Medevil movies, don’t they? But of course, those machines would never been seen in such bright daylight.

The last one of the above three is trapeze machine, though I’d prefer calling it the fluffy. Look at the two hanging straps for feet, aren’t they fluffy and inviting? Without knowing anything about it, my fate was sealed with it by a casual grab.
During our media tour, all the four of us were invited to try out different machines, some doing together, some just for volunteering. After I grabed the fluffy strap when passing by, the trainer started introducing the machines one by one. He then said, the most challenging machine is the fluffy, and my grab just made me the perfect volunteer for trying it out.

I did require strength of your whole body, every piece of muscle was involved, and I couldn’t help feeling happy that all the pain from doing body pumps was definitely not in vain. The most scary machine was not that hard! Or at least, the action I tried which I believed to be one of the easiest on fluffy was very managable.
I don’t know if it was the little but very different body conditioning at the pilates I did, or the previous 2-hour body combat and body pump I had at the gym, I felt happily sore all over the next day. And I loved it! Sounds twisted, isn’t it? But, yeah, when it comes to working out, sweat and pain are my friends.
Anyway, pilates, I just can’t wait to try more!
